It will be RHP Ethan Phillips on the mound for IU with an ERA of 6.61 in 16.1 IP and a WHIP of 1.04. Troy will have RHP Grayson Stewart with an ERA of 4.91 in 11 IP. Mitchell is the DH with Colopy in RF. Tibbitts is behind the plate with Brenczewski at 1st.

It's 36 degrees at game time and sunny with the winds NW 13 mph and blowing out to RF.

1st inning:

T1st:

The leadoff hitter reached on a single to start the game which is what he did to start Game 1. Phillips got the next batter on a flyout to RF. Tibbitts gunned down the runner trying to steal 2nd for two outs.

Butcher who hit 3 HRs and had 6 RBIs yesterday, singled with two outs and at least it wasn't a homer.

The next hitter hit a long foul that was barely foul, just missing the foul pole. Phillips then gave up a walk on a full count to put runners at 1st and 2nd and two outs.

Phillips then walked another batter on a full count with two outs. Phillips is already at 22 pitches on the game.

A flyout retired the side and after having two outs and no one on, Phillips loaded the bases but avoided disaster.

B1st:

Mitchell led off. The shift in on with Troy just having the 3rd baseman on the left side of the infield. Mitchell singled to the RF on a 3-1 count to put a runner on.

Taylor grounded out moving Mitchell to 2nd and one out. Taylor has been struggling at the plate of late.

Tibbitts doubled to LF to drive Mitchell in, and for the 2nd straight day, IU takes a 1-0 lead in the 1st.

Mathison grounded out with Tibbitts taking 3rd. Cerny singled to drive in Tibbitts to make it 2-0 IU.

Cerny stole 2nd with Pyne up and two outs. Pyne who has been struggling at the plate, Kd looking to end the inning.

End of 1st: IU 2 Troy 0

Phillips was back out there to face the bottom of the order up for Troy. Phillips them down order in a much more efficient inning than in the first.

B2nd:

It's the bottom of the order up for IU with Colopy leading off. Colopy grounded out for the first out. Brenczewski Kd swinging for the 2nd out. Burckel grounded out to end the inning.

End of 2nd: IU 2 Troy 0

3rd inning:

T3rd:

It's the dangerous top of the order up for Troy and they did all of the damage in yesterdays game. The leadoff hitter reached on a single and the top of the order is 3 for 4 up to this point. Phillip then walked the next batter to put runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs.

With two on and no outs, the dangerous Butcher was up. IU had activity in the bullpen. Butcher has 32 RBIs in 15 games so far. Butcher walked to load the bases with no outs and Phillips has put two walks on the base paths.

Mercer had seen enough and he pulls Phillips for LHP Brandon Keyster with an ERA of 4.91 in 3.2 IP and a WHIP of 0.55.

A SAC fly scored a run with the runners taking 2nd and 3rd with one out. Keyster then walked the next batter on a full count to load the bases again and IU has three walks in the inning.

A base hit scored two more runs to make it 3-2 Troy with runners at 1st and 2nd with one out.

A double scored two more runs to make it 5-2 Troy with still one out and a runner on 2nd. All three walks in the inning have scored. Mercer goes to the bullpen again and brings in RHP Jack Moffitt with an ERA of 3.18 in 5.2 IP.

Moffitt got a K looking on a full count for the 2nd out and a runner still at 2nd.

A groundout retired the side and walks absolutely killed IU in that inning.

B3rd:

Mitchell led off and walked on a 3-1 count. Taylor flied out for the 1st out and Taylor's slump of late continues. Tibbitts flied out for the 2nd out with Mitchell still at 1st.

Mathison then launched a two-run homer to LF to make it Troy 5-4.

Cerny got his second hit of the day on a single with two outs. Cerny moved into scoring position on a WP.

Pyne singled up the middle to score Cerny and tie the game at 5-5.

Troy went to the bullpen to bring in LHP Connor Burt with an ERA of 2.25 in 8 IP and a WHIP of 0.88.

Colopy walked on a full count to put runners on 1st and 2nd with two outs.

Brenczewski then doubled to score two more runs to give IU a 7-5 lead.

Burckel Kd swinging to end the inning.

End of 3rd: IU 7 Troy 5

Moffitt is back out there to face the dangerous top of the order for Troy. The leadoff hitter flied out and he was out for the first time today. Moffitt then walked the next batter on a full count to put a runner on and Butcher up.

Butcher Kd for the 2nd out, and giving up the one walk to the top of the order is the best IU has done against them in the series so far. There's two outs with a runner still at 1st. A grounder retired the side.

B4th:

It's the top of the order up with Mitchell leading off. Mitchell fouled out to 3B

Taylor beat the shift with an opposite field single to put a man on and one out.

Tibbitts walked on a 3-1 count to put runners on 1st and 2nd and one out.

Mathison walked on four pitches to load the bases with one out.

Troy went to the bullpen and brought in RHP Brady Fuller with an ERA of 3.38 in 8 IP and a WHIP of 1.75, and he will face Cerny who was 2 for 2 on the day so far.

The last thing that IU needed was a DP ball and Cerny hit into one although there was a little bit of controversy as to whether he was safe or not at 1st.

End of 4th: IU 7 Troy 5

Moffitt was back out there with Tibbitts to 1B and Stadler taking over behind the plate. Carlson was at 2B.

Moffitt was facing the 8 thru 1 hitters and he gave up a single to leadoff hitter. Moffitt then got a K for the 1st out and that brought up the dangerous top of the order with a man on and one out.

Cerny botched a DP ball getting runner at 2nd, but a bad throw to 1st allowed the runner to reach 2nd with two outs and a runner in scoring position. A single scored the runner from 2nd which was unearned because of the throwing error. Butcher grounded out to retire the side.

It was the 4 thru 6 hitters up for IU with Mathison leading off. Mathison walked on a full count.

Yet another error by Cerny. And our best player strikes out with the bases loaded and one out. yes, it’s way early, but this team is giving me no confidence at all that they are actually a good team.

Kraft came in for Moffitt and he walked the leadoff hitter. A FC got the runner at 2nd for one out and a runner at 1st. Another walk put runners on 1st and 2nd with one out.

A flyout moved put the runners on the corners with two outs. A K retired the side.

B7th:

It was the top of the order for IU and Mitchell popped up to lead off for one out.

Taylor who was in a little bit of slump got his 2nd hit of the game and it was a homer to LF to give IU a 9-6 lead. The homer actually bounced off the outfielder's glove and over the fence.

Tibbitts was hit by a pitch, and then took 2nd on a WP. Mathison grounded out with Tibbitts taking 3rd and two outs.

Cerny who has had a rough day in the field, got an RBI single scoring Tibbitts to make it 10-6 IU with two outs.

Kraft was out there to try an close it out and he walked the leadoff hitter on four pitches. He then got a flyout, K and a groundout to end the game.

Final: IU 10 Troy 7

IU snapped a four-game losing streak to Troy and IU outhit Troy 15-8, but they also left a lot of runners on base with 14 LOBs. Despite a shift on when Taylor was up, he broke out of a little slump he was in by going 3 for 6 and a homer that bounced off the outfielder glove and over the wall. Pyne was 4 for 5 and Cerny 3 for 5.

Pitching wasn't all that great at the start of the game with both Phillips and Keyster going a combined 3 IP and giving up 5 earned runs and walking 4 batters.

Moffitt had the best stuff today and he got the win with Kraft getting the save.
