Time for the Boilers to leave the conference

Yes, they failed to make the Final Four with their best team in almost 40 years.
Congrats!

Correct, but over the last three years haven’t they competed for a BT title in all three, gotten to 2 sweet sixteens and an elite eight? Doesn’t make them elite, but frankly who are we to talk?

Haven’t we missed the NCAAs 7 of the last 11?

I know we have the dusty NCAA banners, and all they have are (or is it one?) dusty Helms (trophies, banners, whatever they are), but seeing posts poking fun of PU doesn’t make me feel any better or worse about IU basketball. Then again, I don’t live in IN and frankly don’t know ANY PU fans.

troll bait. All due respect, they did make a bowl game last year, have beaten IU in football more times than not the past 15 yrs, won the B1G regular season championship in basketball and have seen the NCAA tourney far more than us the past 15 yrs. And have actually won the B1G tourney. Pls stop . Less Purdue posts, more IU bball posts.

I am not a Purdue fan but Purdue does not have "mediocre" academics. It is one of the outstanding public national universities, in every respect, just like IU.
Heller used to claim that many people thought it was an Ivy League school.

Heller used to claim that many people thought it was an Ivy League school.

There's not one documented instance of that ever happening outside of Tippecanoe Co. since Indiana became a state and the university was founded.

But it sure makes them feel good to think so. I mean, if you're a Purdue fan, what else do you have...?

As I told Heller (RIP), I have heard that dozens of times over the years...each and every time from a PU grad.

That said, PU is a fine institution just as IU is. In fact, they compliment each other very well, each having strengths and offerings the other doesn't.

I paid for my kid to go to WL for a specific discipline and other than a mediocre quality of student life, it worked out well.

Purdue is a fine school, but I think it's factually correct that a sizable majority of the US population does not know that Purdue is in the State of Indiana.

I would imagine that a sizable portion of the US population...especially those who don't follow college athletics...doesn't know what State Purdue is in. Though that is probably also the case with lot's of other non state-named schools.

The whole Ivy League thing has been around for years. My buddy who graduated from PU many many years ago said it, and my BIL says it today. I've never actually met anyone in the wild who thought it though.

The same way the University of Chicago left except Purdue has mediocre academics. They suck at basketball and football. Time to shoo them away, Their academics are second rate just like their athletics.
A purdue troll trying to get someone to agree with them so they can report back on GBI that we support this? I wouldn't put it past them.

When they lose at Ohio, we will still not ask them to leave the B1G.

In football over the past 15 years we’ve won 7 and they’ve won 8. Not exactly one-sided.

Ask them to leave their school colors are ugly.

They are rude and obnoxious.
So your daycare and preschool caretaker wore Purdue colors and you had a long battle with her over several years to give up your Wooby and Binky. It’s the only thing that explains your tender mental state.

They are RUDE, they break or vandalize anything of their co-workers that is not Purdue related.
They walk by and say "IU su**s", I say did you learn that at the last Purdue home game?

I have to deal with obnoxious co-workers still living their drunk college days who hate anything that is not Purdue related.

I'm glad my work environment was never like that. It sounds like its time for a lunchtime, heart to heart staff meeting over boss boughten pizza, attendance mandatory. Geez, I'm glad that kind of crap is over and I was the boss who bought.

The boss is a Purdue grad.
So he will do nothing to them.
They all said how Purdue was robbed last year.

Congrats!

Last year’s team wasn’t even their best over the last 4 years. I can think of 3 or 4 teams better in the last 15 years. They got hot and went on a run. That’s all.

with that said, they’ve won two of the last three Big Ten titles. Hard for even a hater to say “they suck”.

by the way, while they might be cheating, their football team just landed a top 25 class for the second year in a row.
