Just heard this speculation and was pretty surprised that they're likely to replace Miles.

Good friend of mine is a NEB fan and he said Miles was most likely gone, no matter the late run they had. If they can get Hoiberg, that would be a coup. Only question would be how long they could keep him.

I like Miles. He came to Lincoln with a chip on his shoulder, didn't take any shit from anybody, and was always a tough out.

Now why in the heck would Hoiberg go to Nebraska?
He can go to UCLA this year - or wait for the IU job after next season. There will be better or equal to Nebraska job open annually...

Nebraska makes no sense...

Was it because the ‘jig’ he did celebrating in the locker room the other day...
Every dad in America felt better about their kitchen dance moves after Miles did that...

Get Michael Lewis on Archie's staff. Miles is about to get canned at a school that is quick on the trigger on football and basketball coaches
Im onboard with that. Would be nice to have an IU guy on staff other than trippin Elston

Did anyone notice giddy Miles taking a face plant running into the locker room after the BTT Rutgers win?
Bonk! Check teeth. Act like it was on purpose. Then get fired a few days after a BTT win... makes sense. Dude had a bad week.

You funny. The IU job isn’t open for the foreseeable future.

i guess my question would be ...why? Nebraska recruiting has been awful the last 2 years. Nebraska had only 10 scholarship players going into the year, and played the year end with 6. I get that he went to IU, but what qualifications does he have that elevate him to IU level?

So bad that they own a winning record with Miles vs. little old IU?

Their basketball facilities blow away IU’s. A big investment. Keep clinging in to misinformation.
IU basketball riding on 1987 fumes. It’s become an “also-ran.”

Sad state of affairs, but bball is still king in Btown and fball king in Lincoln.

With Crean gone, Miles has inherited the crown of douchiest of B10 bball coaches.

Maybe so but don’t tell that to folks in Lincoln or the state of Nebraska for that matter. Between Creighton and U of Nebraska a year ago, they were averaging over 32,000 per game. Creighton At 17,000 and Nebraska was 15,500+.

I'm confident that if I ask the average NB fan, 9 out of 10 would take a fball NC over bball... and I think that's conservative. Great that they support both, and I had no idea Creighton bball would have drawn like that.

Nebraska basketball will never win a title. Its like driving through wheat fields with no radio stations. Football is their thing

Nebraska football fans are like IU basketball fans. They're very passionate about it, owing to their past success. And like IU basketball fans, they're still convinced they're one of the premier football programs in the country, again all based on their past history.

My friend pretty much said the same thing. Pick him up as an Asst. Coach.
Miles as an assistant? NOOO!

I remember him clapping and patting the player on he back that grabbed Morgans arm and pulled it out of socket. I was at the game and watching the battle inside when it happened. It was no sevret Morgan had a bad shoulder back then. The image of a coach clapping and patting players on the back while a player is being attended to in pain is bad enough. Congratulating the player that did it is worse. I am glad he is gone.

I heard last week that this was going to happen and Ohio University was looking at Tom Ostrom. I was thinking Michael Lewis could replace Ostrom at IU if he took the job. I have heard that Ohio is going in a different direction and we don't have an opening.

This may be true. However, Nebby seems to be making necessary changes and updates with their BIG $. IU on the other hand has fallen farther into mediocrity. When do you think IU football will go into Lincoln and dick slap Nebraska the way Nebraska came into assembly hall this year. I can answer that, never.

Because Nebraska is a football power.

I’d rather have Hoiberg than Archie. At least Hoiberg showed he could win at the high major level. He left Prohm a good roster. Amazing how Iowa State knows how to hire better coaches than IU.
