Newsweek did a feature on her back when "The Deep" came out in 1977 and she ranked right there with the greatest beauties in cinema history. The following were the top 5 historical beauties they came up with after talking with hair dressers, costumers designers, etc. who were:

1.) Louise Brooks;
2.) Madeleine Carroll, (Hitchcock's first and probably most beautiful blonde);
3.) Frances Farmer, (another blonde who once hosted a television show in Indianapolis which she appeared on after she was released from a mental institution; a great comedown from being a major motion picture star in the 1930's and early 1940's);
4.) Gene Tierney; and
5.) Joan Collins.

Kind of an interesting list but no doubt all were very beautiful. Google some of the ones I mentioned if you don't believe me.
