This is a good win by IU. Also let's give some props to.....

Yep big win. Hard to imagine Ohio State was ranked #1 at one point. We could of win by 20 if we made free throws.

Green. He didn't start, but he responded. Rob and Jerome both moved well today. Ft's were bad. But what ya gonna do. Very solid win over OSU today.
This game would have been much less of a nail-biter, and a lot more fun to watch, if we had even hit 70% of our free throws. Just mystifying to me that we shoot so poorly from the CHARITY stripe.

Green, what an enigma. Can't live with him, can't live without him.

Good job of coaching by CAM. This team can play if they want to.

I think Green is just a lot better off the bench, even though he still lead the team in minutes. I think it maybe calms him down so he’s more patient and focused

My take on this win is this: winning was #1....#2? Developing rotations in real time that stabilizes the team with some continuity....resulting in a W. IOW...chemistry. Its a work in progress...but it sure helps when the work results in a win. Now build on it.

Far from a perfect game, but much better intensity than last game. If IU played this way against N'Western, they would've won by 20.

LOL...I said the same thing to the wife just after the game. Honestly...the defensive intensity from this team in this game would've put us in all of our games.

Hope they learn this.

And how to move without the ball a bit.

Think that Archie needs to bring in Rick Barry to show these guys how to shoot underhand free throws. Most of these guys shoot jump shots. When you put them on the line, they shoot a set shot and it shows that they are very uncomfortable doing it. The underhand free throw is easily repeatable and the only place they use it is from fifteen feet away. No adjustment has to be made in the shot.

That video is a great find. Thanks!

I always enjoyed when Rick Barry and Bill Russell used to do NBA games.

The fans would have a cow.

It was interesting to see the transformation in Rob from the Northwestern game to this game. He was listless, unfocused and sloppy with the rock against NW. He had great energy, focus and shot the ball with great determination today. Wonder what moved him? I doubt he got his conditioning all back in the space of a week. Give Archie credit for finding the right button to push here.

It really was like night and day with him. He played 29 minutes and looked very good.

It was apparent today that Archie has talent to work with. The addition of TJD & Brunk gives them an inside presence they didn’t have his first two seasons. Now, if they can just stay motivated and play hard for 40 minutes each game they could end up being a tough out come March. Today I finally saw the improvement that I hadn’t seen. Archie scored some points in my book

I thought Rob hitting those 3's at first kind of energized the team. Hope he isn't hurt too badly.

Good Victory, Warts and all. A couple of observations:

1. When you reach this level of competition at this level you should be able to make 70% of your free throws in your sleep, and if you play guard that number should be 75-80%. It is the one aspect of the game where you have full control. If you have decent shooting technique, repetition and muscle memory should put you in that position. I don't have an explanation for it other than it may not be emphasized in teaching or practice. Chicks love the 3 pointer and dunk, but making free throws wins games and makes you valuable to the team.

2. Even though we hit that cold streak from the field in the last nine minutes of the first half, for the most part those shots were taken within the structure of the Offense and were not bad shots.

3. I think starting the game with Green on the Bench helped our Offense Movement and spacing. The ball didn't get stuck in his hands with 4 other players standing around not sure of what to do. He may be one of those guys who is better being on the bench to get a better look of what is happening on the floor when the Game Starts than he is on the floor as a Starter.

Not gonna happen. If it was that great of a method why dont more players use it?
Because people think it looks funny. Listen to Rick Barry discuss it. His son shot 85% using the underhand method at Florida two years ago. People would hoot and holler when he came to the line.

or how about a two-handed set shot. Underhanded seems—under-Handed.
