Guy is so thin-skinned and insecure that he felt compelled to spend 15 minutes last night defending his "old man" walk down the ramp at West Point, and his inability to drink water with one hand. Reminds me of four years ago when Marco Rubio made the small hands/small dick joke, and Trump had to bring it up - - and defend his size - - at a presidential debate no less.

Speaking of size, that crowd last night had to be bitterly disappointing for Team Trump. For days, we heard about expectations for an overflow crowd of tens of thousands. Instead, most of the upper deck was empty and they had to cancel the outdoor "overflow" event. They could have actually spread out and practiced social distancing, if anyone had been so inclined.

Looks like people, even his base, are tiring of the old shtick. The 2016 playbook won't work this time around. He's got a record to defend now, and it's abysmal.

He knows it is over.

The issues for Pubs now are strictly down ballot. Trump doesn't care about that of course as he got his but those left behind have to try to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.

I find it funny/interesting/bewildering when Trumpers say Trump “says it like it is and does not care what anyone thinks”. The fact is that Trump is the opposite of that. He is a pathological liar and he deeply, deeply cares what people think about him. He touts and exaggerates every achievement and attacks any perceived slight because there is nothing he cares about more than his “image” and what people think about him.

That's what they say, but what they mean is "He says the outrageous, hateful, vile things I'm not allowed to say in polite company. If I didn't have to answer to anyone I'd be just like him."

This is so true. I cannot think of a public figure who cares more about what people think of him and what he says than this guy.

It should be over but it isn't. I say that for two reasons:
1) He's the incumbent with all the powers of the presidency at his disposal. Given his character (or, more precisely, lack thereof), he will do everything within his power to hold onto power including lie, cheat and steal.
2) All the Dems need to do between now and November is show that, collectively, they're relatively sane. I'm not sure they're up to the task.

While both things are true, it won't be enough. It is over and has been since last december...before the covid fumble. MSNBC and CNN will cover for Biden so he will be fine,

I think it’s waaayyyy too early to say its over for Trump as a lot can happen between now and November. Things aren’t trending his way but that can (hopefully not) abruptly change. There is also the issue, as always, of who is going to actually show up to vote. I’m also concerned about nefarious actions, such as Republican Secretaries of State reducing swing state polling places in urban areas etc, being taken on Election Day.

I would feel a lot better if Biden could open up a reliable lead in Florida as Trumps path to victory is almost non-existent if he loses Florida,

You can tell which GOP Senators are either safely ensconced in "Deep Red" states or else are NOT up for re-election in 2020. They are the ONLY ones even mentioning Trump, much less making pro-Trump statements... What's the one common characteristic of advertising for Collins, Gardner, McSally, Ernst, and Tillis- none of them mention Trump in current ads.

"The Daily Beast reviewed 15 publicly available ad spots created since March by Republican Senate campaigns in the competitive states of North Carolina, Maine, Colorado, Arizona, and Montana. Fourteen of them made no mention of Trump. The only one that did, an ad from Tillis’ campaign in late April, simply mentioned that he’d been appointed to a White House coronavirus task force. By contrast, Democrats in a number of competitive Senate contests have used their television ad time to attempt to tie Republican incumbents to the president.

In Colorado, Sen. Cory Gardner unveiled his first TV ad of the cycle just last month highlighting his work securing coronavirus aid for his state. The 30-second spot didn’t mention Trump. But it did plug Gardner’s collaboration with Jared Polis, Colorado’s Democratic governor."

It's not a lagre lead, but recent polling shows Biden ahead, and really cutting into the margin Trump had with the elderly in 2016...

I think the virus returning to Florida and DeSantis idiotic response, combined with the GOP coming to a relative hotspot in Jacksonville, are all factors that work against Trump even further. DeSantis made some ridiculous claims the other day that the problem was "increased testing" and also "mostly Hispanic workers" Another caustic, inane comment that nearly rises to the same level of idiocy as when he referred to the state full of elderly retirees as "God's waiting room"...

DeSantis is a Trump mini-me. Just as dumb, insensitive and out of touch.

Agree with you on FL. He's not winning both MI and PA this time. Wisconsin very possibly though. The encouraging thing for FL is that everything was set up for a Dem landslide in 2018 yet they still lost the senate and governor races in FL.

The virus never left Florida.
There is nothing we can do to make it "leave" or "return " as you put it.
Maybe it will mutate and become less virulent but nothing we have done has made it leave or "return".

Why has it mostly left many other countries, but not the US?

I think the idea that it has "left" is a misnomer. There may be fewer cases or more people may have gotten over an infection and developed immunity without spreading it, but it hasn't "left". In most cases, it's still around somewhere. It's just controlled better with sensible precautions. That's been our great failure.

Trump is a mess and he definitely has an uphill battle. The truth is that his ego and power are the most important things to him. The sad thing is that is the case with so many in politics. The president, senate and house are all more concerned about their power and control than actually solving issues today.

I have to come up with some people to vote for but it is hard to feel good about any candidates for President, Senate or House.

I guess this year in Indiana on the federal level it is just President and House Rep.

The state races may be closer than they have been the last several years but I don't know that I see that much change coming. The majority in the house and senate are not changing parties this year so even if the governor would somehow change parties in would not have a major impact on legislation on what the Governor would have across his table.

Can anybody give a better understanding of Biden's value as a leader because I have read a lot of different viewpoints and I just don't see much value on him.

The Trump stuff has been on display for four years so it is easy to make a judgment on him. Biden has been in politics forever but it is hard to know where he would really be at on major issues if he is President. Both the far right and far left don't have the majority of the country on their side but does have a lot of control in the northeast, west on the far left and the far right has Indiana and a lot of the south impact.

At this point, it sadly looks as if you have to vote for Joe & hope for the best. I don’t know if he’ll fix much, but surely he can’t be as bad as Chump. Hopefully he is at least a decent person, which I’ll take after the last 4 years.

  • He will not send his unqualified son-in-law to solve the Middle East Crisis..
  • He will not ask his unqualified son-in-law to email friends about Covid-19
  • Half his corrupt campaign staff will not be in prison.
  • His unqualified daughter will not be sent to diplomatic functions.
  • You will not find pictures of his wife on Pornhub.
  • He will not pay a porn star hush money to not speak about his lil' mushroom.
  • He will not embarrassingly kiss Putin's and Kim's asses.
  • He will listen to qualified experts.
Should I go on or are you getting a clue?

Executive leadership is about delegating to qualified experts. It also requires a semblance of competence, integrity.and grace. Reagan's success was in the staff he picked .He knew how to lead. Trump's severe personal incompetence and Dunning Kruger understanding of the world, is magnified greatly by the incompetence of his staff, those he uses as advisers and those he delegates to.

The reasoning is obvious..

And his press secretary won't look like this:

There is no one in politics (thank God almighty) who is even remotely like Donald Trump.

For starters, there's a nexus between Biden and the truth.

He's also decent, lawful, stable and sane. After Trump, we're even more in need of a leader with these core attributes.

The differences couldn't be more stark. If you're struggling choosing between the two, I'm not sure what to say.

Don’t worry! Our genius president has a genius way of changing sizes. Remember how he bragged about his inauguration crowd being bigger than that of Obama? If I recall correctly, he even showed the pictures of the respective crowd of each. It was very convincing!;)

Yeah. The bullshit started literally the first day of his presidency and has continued unabated.

Thankfully our option opposite of Trump is stupendous!
Our Democratic system doesn’t seem very democratic.

Possible to find an eligible candidate under the age of 800, surely not?
Great job America! This country is so f’d.

I would call that a “very discouraging thing” but we each are obviously entitled to our opinions.

Dont forget the sharpie. That will be the tool/magic wand that convinces everyone.

Huh? I visited a relative for 3 days. What does that have to do with anything??
Zeke, I don't care what you do or when you do it. I don't care if you wear a mask or social distance. What is disturbing is the "do as I say and not as I do" actions. You are fine with yourself traveling but want to demean others.
You think the virus has "left" every other country besides ours because not everyone acts like yourself.
I hope you enjoyed visiting your relative and in my opinion you should continue.

The same press who has said this about Trump is the same one who is downplaying Biden's condition. Anybody votes for Biden is doing a disservice to the country. He has some kind of medical problem. His thinking is cloudy and I really don't believe he could function as President.
