They don't even try to hide it.

The difference is that you in particular and many left leaning posters actually “like” the smackdowns.
Far from it. In fact, in 20+ years on here I had never gone to the trouble of putting anyone on the "ignore" list, but I recently put 3 of the posters I named on it. Their constant deranged smacktalk makes visiting this forum undesirable. yes, three people in the last month are more idiotic than any posters on this forum this century.

Meh. We all cope with bullshit in our own way.

Damn, you are so pure!

It would be refreshing if we could get back on the subject matter. I hate all professional politicians. It was part of Trump's appeal. Despite his thousands of mistakes and head-shaking statements/tweets, he came down hard on the card-carrying tenured politicians. Politics seems to be the one profession where the practitioners tend not to improve with age and "experience." I would contend they get worse.

Vance, as a non-politician, is worth the look. I don't care what he said about Trump once might not be what he says now. Harris and Biden weren't exactly trading hugs and kisses. Now, Jill Biden hates Harris. Even Skeletor voted for it before he voted against it or something . . .

lmao for you to have the temerity to write such a thing. you're worthy of ignoring. you're a far left, moronic hack who makes up fake stories and posts them. what could possibly be worse than fabricating bs stories. oh i know, pretending to be a conservative while doing it.

What do you know about the Patriots, Brady and Deflategate?

I think Vance could do a good job. Listened to a podcast of him the other day and he is extremely focused on the working poor and opioid epidemic.

Seems like the kind of pragmatist that Democrats could work with given they’ve usually been the champions of the war on poverty.

I wish it was made up...

-that my 69 year old Trumper sister is unvaccinated because her church in Seymour IN preaches that vaccines are evil

-that my 73 year old Trumper brother is unvaccinated because his church in Bowling Green KY preaches that vaccines are evil

-that rednecks on my street decorate their 4 wheelers and swamp buggies with Trump 2024 flags

-that similar rednecks driving pickup trucks with Trump stickers and Trump flags are the arseholes who leave shopping carts in the middle of the parking lot and honk at / try to intimidate bicyclists.

But none of that is made up, and neither is the fact that I voted straight Republican in all presidential elections from 1980 to 2012.

It is almost as if people might be looking for something....Obama ran on Hope and Change and was a polished politician. Then he got in office and was found to be more of the same and lost a bunch of support. Trump ran as antiestablishment and was his own worst enemy when he got in office (there is an article traveling around some conservative sites today that has a laundry list of where he went wrong...) and that hurt him. At the end of the day though, there is pent up anger at the establishment. They are **** ups. Right, left, and in between the "elites" (I use that term loosely) that run this country are mostly juvenile morons who have obtained their position on dubious credentials.
But the idea that a multi-millionaire who descended solid gold steps in his own building to announce his candidacy could somehow convince millions of people that he was some sort of "non-Elite anti-establishment outsider" is ludicrous on substance from the outset. I mean not every Trump supporter bought that fantasy, but anyone who did was an uneducated idiot...

American business has never been divorced from politics, and SCOTUS basically codified that relationship with Citizens United. Trump is 70+ and he has NEVER advocated for anything resembling working-class rights or blue-collar issues PRIOR to deciding to switch his party affiliation and suddenly run as a Republican. If anything Trump has pursued policies and actions in both his personal and business life that have basically exploited workers and common people, not only in the US but in places like Scotland and elsewhere where he basically used his fortune to undermine locals...

You have to seriously wonder about the intelligence of people who fail to comprehend that- it's like they've never heard of google. The times he's used eminent domain to steal land, the way he's ripped off contractors, the multiple times he's declared bankruptcies in his businesses.

Some people make admiring comments about his business acumen, esp when it comes to the numerous bankruptcies. It's like they think that when Trump shuts down a casino or other business and declares bankruptcy that the business only consists of Trump family members who emerge unscathed.

But that casino employed hundreds if not thousands of employees, and those people all lost their livelihoods without the benefits of having their debts erased. And he has employed that tactic NUMEROUS times, which means an ungodly amount of people have had their lives ruined. Trump Inc has never been a sole proprietorship...

Here’s the difference Bulk. I post about what I believe are destructive if not dangerous positions of Democrat politicians and pundits and you, mark, goat, shooter, and several others respond with posts about me. Hoot, and often marv, will post content in response. Most of the left on this board see it as an adolescent smack down exercise. Most of the right see it as a place to discuss ideas.
"Most of the right see it as a place to discuss ideas."

Seriously, you are claiming mas, DANC, crayfish, and others propose and discuss "ideas?" Some of them just ignore reality and history and make up their own. Is that what you characterize as "ideas"?

Please feel free to quote any of the ideas they've proposed...

How much time did Outside Shooter devote to this study to tell us finally who it is that has been leaving shopping carts in parking lots all these years? How do you explain the ones left in the years before Trump? Yet you wonder when you get called stupid? Intimidating bicyclists? Let me guess you are one that doesnt stop at stop signs and could care less about holding a line of traffic up too right?

Christ on a Rocket, Master of Testimony, why does a whole swath of people that voted against trump continue to be unvaccinated?

Im starting to doubt you’re a man of science. You’re a deeply flawed partisan that has zero introspection.

Trumpers existed long before Trump. They just went by different names.
Trump found a way to appeal to them.

For sure. What’s interesting to me is that there’s a population, many hillbillies, proudly, that deem trump the first guy from either party to “speak to them.” And they continue to support him. It’s such an odd thing bc he’s a golden spoon New Yorker that has nothing in common with them. And the idiots on the board will say white supremacy etc but it’s not that. It’s what they purport as a value and a perceived interest from him in their station in life. It’s very odd that he resonates with that demo.

That is funny, how is this associated to OS posting that they leave carts in the parking lot? I know what I notice and its much more likely to be welfare recipients and I won't go further than that. Before Covid I put would put a stray cart away on my way in, push it in, have respectfully asked older people if they were done with their cart and I'd push it in with me if they would like.

But is a phony appeal. At least most people who initially enter public service/politics at a young age do so because of some sense of civic responsibility. They often become jaded and overstay their welcome, but usually that's not the case when they first enter the realm...

Trump was already a self-serving businessman who never did anything to enrich the lives of others before he decided to get into the public realm of politics. But his history starting with his discrimination against prospective Black tenants in 1970, all his shady business dealings, his idiotic persecution of the Central Park 5, and his embracing and dogged pursuit of "birtherism" are all examples of his building his brand and enriching his own pockets.

He's always been a behind-the-scenes politician-it's not like he and Rudy first worked together in the Admin. What about Trump appealed to you, and convinced you he was not a politician- his lack of running for office?

EVERYTHING he's done throughout his life has been self-centered,- heck most people trace his decision to actually run for POTUS back to the public humiliation he suffered from Obama joking about him at the Correspondent's dinner in 2011. Can you name a single "cause" Trump champions that ultimately doesn't benefit him and his brand on a personal or business level?

I was just answering your query on how all this was happening before Trump. (Hint: There is a YUGE difference between people who voted for Trump, and Trumpers. Not all people who voted for Trump are Trumpers, but all Trumpers voted for Trump.)
What's your point on "welfare recipients"?
Finally, I have no doubt about your cart story. As to the stray cart, you probably didn't want It scratching your pick up (just kidding).
Believe it or not, this evil Lefty has often done the same with regards to parking lot courtesy, especially with older people...even though I am one.

So first am not some blinded Trump supporter as Im sure labeled. He is an ass for certain. The part I see and and I'm staying out of the whole hillbillies and redneck derogatory stuff . Trump is not a career politician, Hillary and Biden were/are career politicians that made fortunes being politicians. Trump made whatever he has elsewhere and whether shady or not it still wasn't from holding office. He really wasn't so much a Rep or a Dem some of both so to many he was a 3rd party candidate in a sense. The only 3rd party in history to receive more electoral votes than a major party was TR in 1912 over Taft but losing to Wilson. He was different. Obama promised change but he didn't really make any change once elected. Love him, hate him, somewhere in between, Trump didnt give a sh*t about normal politics and he did more of what he said he would than any I remember, and the whole Mexico wall thing is so overused about making them pay for it. It was never meant like they were writing a check. is the same way people that say Biden isn't raising their taxes because the don't make that much don't see it comes from different places than their return and yes they will pay.

Besides a dipshit survey how about you show me actual stats of who’s been vaccinated, chief?
OK,

As of yesterday, there were 24 congressional districts where at least 67 percent of residents have received a coronavirus vaccine shot (at least one). 23 of them are represented by Democrats.

As of yesterday, there were 36 congressional districts where less than 36% of residents had received a coronavirus vaccine shot (at least one). 34 of them are represented by Republicans.

click on table and sort by column "Vaccinations Initiated, Percent of Population"

The source, Harvard University, is generally well-regarded.

I’m not done with you yet MoT. Your attempts to spread misinformation is shameful for a man of science. Repent or face continued assault.

To all non-partisan hacks, look at figure 5 and the Trends In COVID-19 Vaccination Intentions section. Shameful stat thrown up by Outside “MoT” Shooter.

So congresspeople are telling their constituents what to do? Does that explain why people of color are underrepresented in vaccinations?

You have no shame, do you?

No comment at all on the Harvard publication?

Figures... You prefer Weekly world News.

Not worth it. He’s genuinely worth putting on ignore.

I really like Appalachia stuff. I think it’s fascinating. I’ve watched several docs evidencing his support amongst hillbillies. I just don’t get it
You really don't? That is easy, less government. I live in an area with a lot of Amish, Conservatives that drive buggies and they love less govt and stay out of their business and like Trump. It is really simple to see to me . There is a big difference in hillbillies and rednecks if we want to go down that road too. Hillbillies if you choose to use that word take care of themselves. You might laugh at how they do it but are fiercely independent . Rednecks I don't really get, They do stupid stuff on purpose ............I also don't get Hispanics with hydraulics on cars to bounce or Blacks with 24'' rims on an old Caprice. I bet some of them leave carts in parking lots as well.

Yep, and given all that there are many who still felt that he was a better option than anybody put forth by any of the other parties. Think about that. There are so many people starved to have their needs and wants reflected by a candidate that they had to basically come out for a guy like that.

Then they have quite a few people from the left calling them idiots and the like...or the trope we always hear about poor Republicans voting against their interests and needing to wise up and vote Democrats because nothing screams success like what that party did to the black community.

(Edited to be less attacking)

You wanted facts and I gave you facts.

Your congressman shouldn't have that sort of pull, that you believe nonsense, but it does reflect some very interesting trends across 50 states.

Sure, there are also racial disparities, and there are other links focusing on that. But the fact that there is a political bent to the COVID antivaccination movement is undeniable.
