Thanks for the info5'9". Played for an Arkansas team that finished last in the SEC this year 3-13 in conference, 10-22 overall.
Came to Ark in middle of 2023/24 season and RSed first year.
Last year started last 12 games. Had some brutal shooting stats including 52% on FTs. Her assist #s weren't anything to brag about either.
With all that said, she must bring something. Apparently ASU, Clemson, Creighton, Illinois, Michigan and MSU wanted her out of the portal. She was a member of the Netherlands National Team and played quite a bit for them. I think her main attribute is quickness.
I like Spreen a lot. This one is a little puzzling. We need size.at 5‘9“ and poor shooting the only thing she can bring that I can think of is blazing speed and defense. I won’t even bring up the fact that my other worry is she is a medium level player and she is all we can get.
Aren’t 4s considered bigs? I think Maya has a good three point shot. I wonder if those get better as you get stronger?Maya is not a post player. More likely to fill Yarden’s spot
IU runs more of a 4 guard offense with big guards covering the pf spotAren’t 4s considered bigs? I think Maya has a good three point shot. I wonder if those get better as you get stronger?
Well, we just got a big. A big with oodles of potentialI think, with no inside info, that we cannot attract a big. I don’t know why. If Faith were really good she would have had more minutes as a freshmen. Maybe she will blossom.
Sydney Fenn was redshirted due to injury. Maybe a year of film study will help her be good her first year. Maya is 6’3” but a true freshmen and not ranked super high (50s I think) out of high school.
The 3 adds so far are all short. Even very short even for guards.
No conclusions yet. But would like some good big adds.
You were on that quick. Thanks. Made me look it up. Only 6’3” and mop up minutes only for UCLA in 2024. But impossible to play over Lauren Bettis who is 6’7” and skilled.Well, we just got a big. A big with oodles of potential
Big Z was the #30 recruit last year. Highest rated player we’ve had, I believe. Not just a practice player. You were on that quick. Thanks. Made me look it up. Only 6’3” and mop up minutes only for UCLA in 2024. But impossible to play over Lauren Bettis who is 6’7” and skilled.
I hope she is good rather than just someone for practices. Our guards are short guards and only Shay is a three threat. We need more scoring.
We really need a surprise from Faith, Sydney, or the new big. And we need surprises from a couple of guards. I wonder if Kadlecova or Beau could make a huge leap?
Moren said several times that they had big plans for Beau before her injury. Since she stayed, I believe that is true. You were on that quick. Thanks. Made me look it up. Only 6’3” and mop up minutes only for UCLA in 2024. But impossible to play over Lauren Bettis who is 6’7” and skilled.

If link doesn’t work, a quick summary:
Athletic, can score and defend, good character, 3 years left. If we have anything in Faith and new Syd, we may be ok with rotation main players. One more would be better. Maybe Maya?
Not sure about our guards. I think Shay can play PG or SG or a PG that can score. I thought last year Beau was going to make a leap for us as a sophomore so now I hope she makes a huge leap (like first team all big ten, we need that level of players) as a red shirt sophomore. I am not expecting anything from freshman Coffey but who knows.
from the brief bit of film i saw, looks like she's got a good handle. As PG or SG?
I think she's simply trying to get better talent to compete with the best teams in the BIG. She's not interested in finishing 6th or 7th.We need bigger and faster. I am starting to think Lilly and Currie Jelks left to get more playing time.
It is less obvious to me that Jules (a good three point shooter tho limited opportunities and drew a lot of charges on defense) left for more PT. Same with Lex. She doesn’t score but was fast, knew the system and Moren has praised her defense.
Some are saying that Yarden left due to anti semitism and threats and some of those from Woodson’s basketball team. I have no idea if that is true. If it is true, that is a horrid stain that those in charge at IU (BOT, Whitten) and Woodson (if the latter true) did not act.
I also don’t know about Henna. Did Moren know in advance via player agents that we would land Speen and Stotgyn? And did she feel they would be better than Henna? Or does Moren feel the Czech girl Kadlecova will take Henna’s minutes.
Locker room problem or just a rebuild to get bigger and faster?
Unless Moren takes all the best left in the portal, finishing 7th is a pipe dream right nowI think she's simply trying to get better talent to compete with the best teams in the BIG. She's not interested in finishing 6th or 7th.
Thank you mister sunshine. I think we've heard enough from you. Go home.Unless Moren takes all the best left in the portal, finishing 7th is a pipe dream right now
Maryland landed Gracie Merkle 6’6” ( I think) from Penn State and of course our Yarden. And they were good before those adds. UCLA will be back, Betts at 6’7” is a great start.Unless Moren takes all the best left in the portal, finishing 7th is a pipe dream right now
And teri isn't done yet.Maryland landed Gracie Merkle 6’6” ( I think) from Penn State and of course our Yarden. And they were good before those adds. UCLA will be back, Betts at 6’7” is a great start.
USC will not have Juju until January but should be good for March. Big ten is a quality conference for sure. Good coaches thru out.
I just did a few searches and there are some predictions that Caffey could start as our PG, and excel. Some feel Maya could start as a 4 as a freshman. Zania start as a true C? It would be a very young team. Hope they are on campus now.
Let’s hope it is defensive ability and athletic abilty5'9". Played for an Arkansas team that finished last in the SEC this year 3-13 in conference, 10-22 overall.

She has 12 days left I think. What should she add? Another big? A three point shooting guard? Both? Who will accept us?And teri isn't done yet.
Big Z was the #30 recruit last year. Highest rated player we’ve had, I believe. Not just a practice player.
Probably at least 3 more portal additions coming.
That's wild. Love Syd, but she's not on that level at all.Sydney Parrish was ranked #8 in the 2020 class with Bueckers, Brink, Reese, Clark, Cardoso, Diamond Johnson and Haley Van Lith being the players ahead of her.
The portal closing just means a player can't enter the portal after that date. They don't have to have found their landing spot by any specific date. She has 12 days left I think. What should she add? Another big? A three point shooting guard? Both? Who will accept us?
Fitzwilly entered the portal, I would love her talent but do not know her personality.
Patberg was top 15 as well if I remember right. That said, I believe Berger is the highest rated kid we have had commit from HS, we have had a few top 30 kids from the portal--Syd, Alli, Danielle Patterson (never panned out and left), now Big ZThat's wild. Love Syd, but she's not on that level at all.
Agree. UCLA was loaded with talented players and there were players riding the bench for much of the season that were considered major recruits coming into that program, and they were not going to take the place of the Bruins' veteran players. I'm not going to get hung up on their stats for the past season, and all four recruits that UCLA brought into their program have entered the portal.Big Z was the #30 recruit last year. Take it to the women's hoops board. LolAgree. I read something last week stating that she was injured for about six weeks of the season and that was a big contributing factor in regards to her numbers.Agree. And that Lauren BEtts plays her position LOLI read something last week stating that she was injured for about six weeks of the season and that was a big contributing factor in regards to her numbers.
Well yeah, that's a given. And that Lauren BEtts plays her position LOL
