This may be the oldest trick in the book...
I hang around in the BlackMagic****ery subreddit, so I know how he's doing this, but I couldn't possibly do it myself. If you want to spoil it you can search for Penn and Teller cups and balls on youtube and they demonstrate it with clear cups so you can see what they are doing.
I've certainly seen a lot of magicians and illusionists, but this guy is really good. Charisma was as good as Pitter Griffin (that comparison was to be expected). In fact, a lot depends on a person's perception. Many people, like Ishmael's characters ishmael summaries, understand that this is unrealistic and take pleasure in the unreality of what they are shown. And many others feel deceived, so they devote all their energies to destroying things that still bring them pleasure.
