Here is the up to date top 10 in the college football coaches top 10 poll. IU will have played 6 of these top ten teams before the season ends. Yikes. Has anyone had a tougher schedule in the history of college football? Can I get a little sympathy!!!!!!!!
10. Michigan State Spartans 6-0 (11)
9. Oregon Ducks 4-1 (9)
8. Penn State Nittany Lions 5-1 (4)
7. Ohio State Buckeyes 5-1 (7)
6. Michigan Wolverines 6-0 (
😎

5. Alabama Crimson Tide 5-1 (1)
4. Cincinnati Bearcats 5-0 (6)
3. Oklahoma Sooners 6-0 (5)
2. Iowa Hawkeyes 6-0 (3)
1. Georgia Bulldogs 6-0 (2)

Incredibly tough schedule but that's going to be the case every year. Maybe a little tougher this year because we got a very strong Iowa in a crossover game.

By the end of the season, UM & MSU will not be in the top 10. Neither has played OSU or PSU yet and they still play head-to-head. If we beat them, they could both end with 4 losses.

It's time for us to put up or shut-up. It's unlikely but this team could still go 8-4 which given the schedule would still be a step forward. Time to buckle the chin straps, get off the social media hype and go win some games.

On a related note, through last weekend's games we were at #2 in Sagarin's strength of schedule metric. Wisconsin's schedule (again, through games played) was rated the toughest.

Last night announcer called B10 East the toughest Division in college football. Plus, add #2 Iowa, Minny, & Purdue as crossovers. Add a #5 team in the preseason & a road game in the dark @ WK..

This will easily turn out to be #1-5 most difficult schedules in the country.

If Allen can go 6-6 with this schedule, it might be a bigger accomplishment than last year.

8-4 is totally unachievable with this group & remaining schedule. You are talking about multiple consecutive weeks of Vegas upsets. We will only be favored in 1 or 2 remaining games on the schedule, & you think that we are going to go 6-1?

Before the season started I told a friend that I thought we'd have a more talented team this year but we'd only win 6 or 7 regular season games. My reasons included a tougher schedule, return to a more normal environment from a Covid-19 standpoint, and a belief that we wouldn't be able to sustain last year's great turnover margin. I didn't expect that we'd be as challenged at QB as we have been. In terms of the schedule, the quality of our competition is better than I expected. Michigan, Iowa, and Cincinnati are all slightly stronger than I thought they'd be. MSU, while still beatable, appears to be significantly better than I expected.

We will have to wait and see how the Hoosiers do in the second half of the schedule. Will the offense improve in very good way to help the defense and will the ST issues stop happening. Look much better against MSU and win the game and the second half the season will look very good for a big change for the rest of the season.
