The Biden administration ending with executive orders is stupid politics.

Biden isn't in charge and his handlers have no idea why they lost.
The Dem party is totally busted. AOC. The squad. Hollywood. Media etc think Harris wasn’t woke enough. Wasn’t left enough. That she blew it lying about being a mod. That she should have gone all in on far leftist rhetoric

Part thinks the far left is why trump won. That Harris wasn’t believable as a moderate. That her history belied her knew illusory brand. That if they elected a true centrist Dem not a liar/pretender they would have won.

It’ll be interesting to see how it evolves, or continues to devolve. We know trump will fck up enough stuff to keep Dems in the game but if they get it sorted they’ll be fine

Trump was never going to let this deal proceed anyway. Protectionism is alive and well and has taken over both parties

Politically, Biden should have left it for Trump and let Gary closing fall to him.

Economically, as long as those plants stay open, why should I care if Nippon owns it? The steel is being made here by Americans. Seeing the plants close to bankruptcy doesn't help at all.

The politics of victimhood that the left has draped themselves in is now threadbare and the people have taken notice...

It’s like the fools that think GM cars are made in America, when they are among the least likely

The best was when Chrysler closed here. They put up a sign out front 5,000,000 Sq Ft for lease. Call for more information 🤣

Prior to a rally in Pittsburgh area shortly before the election... The local leader met with Trump and encouraged him not to mention scuttling the deal at the rally as a lot of the workers in attendance had come around to supporting it. Trump didn't mention it during that rally, but 'gut-punched' them with his post election December statement.

Did you buy it?
Other end. My partner repped Chrysler employees. He’d have a comp settlement day where he’d bring 50 plus files and he and the lawyers would crank out settlements. It was his true Xmas. Sometimes they’d go to Scottsdale to do it. I’ll never forget seeing his face when he had that fat stack of files ready to go and the lawyer showed up with a stack of bankruptcy notices. He got drunker than a thousand Indians that night

I’m glad there are still people who recognize the obvious.

This is like Hoosiers who complained about a Spanish company leasing the Indiana Toll Road - on the basis that they’re Spanish.

As if they were going to dig the road up and move it to Valencia.

“Foreign direct investment in US-based steel plants”

“Japan’s investment in an American steel company”

“Investment”?…. No real investment is occurring

Probably not, but stupid look from a horrendous president that expanded Tariffs and was more combative for M&A than any recent administration.

One of my all time favorite scenes in any show is when he was taking appointed cases and arguing one right after the other and the viewer had the vantage of the judge. Absolutely fantastic
Still probably the most realistic lawyer show ever made. Especially his miserable times in the crappy Albuquerque city court.

It was a phenomenal show. I think it was about as good as Breaking Bad. But it has the disadvantage of being the spinoff. So it will always live in BB’s shadow.

Huh? Nippon was going to put like $3B into improvements of the existing aged USS facilities in Gary and PA. Something that seems unlikely now. I'm guessing both those facilities will be gone a decade from now.

Odenfeld or whatever saul’s name is is a really good actor. Have you seen the bear? Very slow start and kind of annoying but picks up with some really, really great episodes. Well they have a Xmas dinner with cameos from all these celebs and oden whatever is in it. Absolutely hilarious episode. John mulaney too who is great in it

Yes, I have. I’m a foodie…so it’s a must watch.

And it is also a good reminder why I don’t want to come within a mile of having anything to do with owning (much less running) a business in food-and-beverage service.

Very high risk, limited returns even if you are successful, and excruciatingly high workload. No thank you.

No kidding.

Completely unrealistic. Italian beef is one of the greatest foods, what moron would stop serving that in favor of "fine dining"? Does he hate flavor?
My best friend lives in Chicago. Edibles biz. Cortez and I have a very close friend who lives on the same block. I stayed an entire summer in Chicago. I have been to Chicago ten thousand times. Done properly a French dip might be my favorite food. I have never had an Italian beef in Chicago and of any food in the world it is number one on my list to try

I’ve never had a Philly cheesesteak in Philly either.

Or a pizza in New Haven.

2 and 3 on the list

Pizza in New Haven is really good. Frank Pepe is the best one there, IMO.

Philly Cheesesteaks are hella overrated. Philly is a shithole city all around, sadly.

IMO, outside of expensive haute cuisine type places in NOLA and wine country and all that, I think the best food in America can be found in the Southeast…at places that don’t always catch your eye as phenomenal places to eat. But looks can be deceiving.

Co-sign. Charleston has my favorite meals. And right save expensive Bay Area nola ny etc

You’ve had frank Pepe? That’s the one I want to try

Wtf ? You can’t complain about the ladies leaving when you don’t even take them to Johnnie’s Beef, or at least Portillos…
