The best is yet to come?

Crazy talk perhaps, but if IU can advance past the first round campus game, I like our chances, on a neutral field, against anybody.

There will be just 12 teams in this tournament. The non-bye teams need just three wins to get to Atlanta. Why not us?

Go Hoosiers!
That’s the thing. If we end up playing at a 2 or 3 loss SEC team I’m going to be upset. At home or neutral site we can play with anybody.

I predict we end up on the road at Penn St or Georgia.
All the SEC whining about Penn St and IU playing weak schedules will sway the committee to eliminate one of us right off the bat.
At Georgia because they think they will embarrass us to prove they don’t think we belong.
If the committee could replace us with another SEC team they would but right now they can’t justify it.They desperately want Bama in there, who gets screwed to put them in there is the question.

Georgia either gets a bye or is a 10-12 seed. That’s their only scenario.

Couple of things.

First, the chair of the selection committee is a Big Ten guy.

Next, instead of worrying about what the committee will or won’t do, let’s appreciate and enjoy the fact that we’re in the playoff and part of the national championship conversation. Who knows when this will happen again.

LOL, I'm with you when you're right! GO HOO-HOO-HOOSIERS!

Yea. Whatever game we get will be very tough and we'll be underdogs. It's the playoff... it's obviously not going to be easy.

People are free to post whatever they want, but I don't see any reason for doom and gloom. Almost no one thought we could make the playoff. Yet we almost certainly did, and we now likely have a shot to win some huge game(s) if we play very well. How could things realistically get any better than this?

The playoffs will be a tall order with a big uptick in opposition. I would like to see Rourke throw the ball away out of bounds instead of taking a sack. That is a concern going forward. Did it too often against Michigan and OSU, and shouldn't have happened against Purdue.
Tall order indeed but the SEC is down and there’s no dominant team anywhere, in my opinion, including the Ducks. This tournament will be wide open. Why not us?

I think OSU just lost their home field
Couldn't happen to a "nicer" group of guys. I didn't really care who won at first, but then watching and seeing Day and Howard and remembering their douchebaggery, I decided I wanted Michigan. I actually wouldn't mind another crack at OSU. They couldn't help but be overconfident and I think our guys would like the chance to prove they belong on the field with them.

I do agree with this stmt. Nice post. Also agree w BOWL that committee is B1G represented. Can't believe we give a shit. Unreal season and I too am preparing to get screwed like IU is entitled to respect. Wont' get any until we kick somebody's entitled ass. Let's go do it. Go Hoosiers!

the ultimate payback

only problem is, unlike in the past,

I think they are pretty good this yr
I just want us to go somewhere fun and novel. Who knows when this will happen again. I think cig is the real deal and iu finally got it right. But this season was a perfect storm. Wash and mich after championship years way down. A class from the fun belt with a history and culture and expectation of winning, something iu fball never had. Basically just swapping iu for another school and augmenting same with certain pieces.

Everything came together in a unique way. I’d like to see schools we rarely see to finish it out. Been a special year

Miami should not be in the CFP, imo. Not after that loss at Cuse.

@ND would be a dream, an easy drive for me and everyone else in Btown. And nothing would be better than winning at ND.

@PSU is a great opportunity for IU to advance. The blueprint is out on IU, pressure the QB. IU can hang with PSU speed.

It’s like a regular season game which means 2 to 3 thousand tickets for visiting fans. Resale tickets might be hard to come by.

I agree about ND. Would love to see us in South Bend for the first round.
