SJ had 2 Quad 4 losses with their best wins being Marquette and Nova. Why, exacty, did quality of games played not seem to matter this year? To add to that, Woffors being a 12 seed means they wouldn't have been an at large team. Alabama's one good win was at home vs UK. Temple? I just don't get what anyone was looking at. The B10 didn't finish with a team out of the top 75....

And Oklahoma??? Why were they in? My guess is the NCAATC could not allow themselves to have 9 teams from a single conference not called the ACC... and IU just had 1 too many losses, regardless of quality wins, to overcome that.

BTW, I remember the SI article from the fall where their jackhole so called expert said the B1G would not have a single team play past the first weekend. I wonder if he get called out publicly when that doesn't happen? I actually do know the answer already, he won't.

The BIG was really strong this year from top to bottom. We still had too many losses and went 8-10 in the conference. Shouldnt have lost to Rutgers or Northwestern or Nebraska at home. We still had the destiny in our hands at the end to beat Ohio state and we blew it. There's no point in crying about it now.

plus the B1G is 2-0 in the NIT. IU is better than at least 6 of the at-large teams I have watched so far.

Also, MSU is the only team left standing of IU's group of quality wins. Marquette, L-ville and Wisconsin all easily handled in first round. Perhaps our 12-2 start wasn't all that great after all. Just squeaked past Butler, Northwestern and PSU during that stretch as well. Even a couple of the buy games (or whatever the low mid-major games are called) were pretty tight.

I'm starting to think that maybe the team derailed a little less than we thought, and the slump was just a large dose of reality.

Outside of crushing Marquette, did we really play that well during that stretch? Barely beat UL and Butler, got smoked against Duke and barely scraped by some bad teams. It was fools gold but coaching staff should've used it to get them playing better
