Terrible job directing traffic after the game

Pay for a better pass. Never takin me more than 3 minutes to leave.
We are in zone A and it usually doesn’t take that much time to get out. They blocked off 17th Street and funneled all the traffic to the bypass, which was already heavy with non-game traffic.

Thanks for your helpful suggestion though. DWS

I go south on Woodlawn, buy a pass where you can exit at that light or directly south of the hall and turn right on 17th, then left on woodlawn. I’d suggest going that way and cutting over to 37 on 3rd street if you are going north.

You are welcome.

We are in B and it is always slow for a game that goes down to the wire. Add a ton of alumni in student seats who may not go to a lot of games and it will be what we saw.

I thought all parking requires a parking pass now. Can you still pay day of for the lots off the bypass?

Don't know about men's games, but for women's, they have a couple guys with card readers at each entrance charging $5. I have season tickets for IUWBB, but to save money on a season parking pass you'd only have to miss maybe two games, tops. I haven't missed one yet, but figured I'd just pay as I go because I travel for work frequently. No cash.

Step 1: don't park in the parking lot.
Step 2: park for free and walk.
Step 3: bypass the madness.

I parked in the parking lot with my Dad yesterday: total CF that you pay money to experience. They need to just open up all of the lot exits and work the intersection lights.

^^^^ This is what I've done in the past (when my wife with two bad knees is not with me -- she goes to the WBB games with me).

Otherwise, I park in the Kroger Seminary Square lot and walk the 1.5 miles to the stadium/AH area. Yep, it's 30 minutes, but you're getting your steps in, you're getting reasonably fresh air, and you're not chewing your steering wheel. I HATE HATE HATE waiting in traffic. If you have a closer favorite spot where you know you won't be towed, do that.

Exercise is important, and who doesn't like walking through/around campus? Laziness is the enemy.

Is this area unmonitored for football also? I was referring to any game, especially football. I dont get to many BB games without an unambulatory companion (wife or Dad).
No, your car might have 20 beer cans on it or get towed if you park there for football.

assume they have never seen a man squat.
Dumb.

not for basketball I've drove in there and parked for sure
You can also park in the IU lots off of Woodlawn i.e. around Luddy Hall, behind the old Beta house (I refuse to use the new name) or Geology, they don't enforce parking zones at night or on weekends unless it's marked 24 hours. 10 minute walk up Woodlawn.

If you're going to any more of the mini-series games park in the Briscoe or McNutt dorm lots at 17th & Fee across 17th Street from Assembly Hall. Parking restrictions are not enforced when students are on break.

Try imagining working for IU 20 years but living 20 miles out because average middle class housing doesn't exist in Bloomington anymore ... all bought up years ago for rental property. That is life there and to some extent, even Ellettsville and trying to get out to 446 or 37 to go home in Bedford. It has not been a good place to live since the 90's, but for the wealthy.

Take your average cost of living in Indy times 2, then add in worse traffic. It's no wonder MM was pissed off about his Taco order, he probably had to circle the damn place 3 times to get in the drive through line. Seriously, when I do go to the office ... which is rare, because they make you pay exorbitantly to park within a block from where your office may be on campus, that's the visual on the way home. It always makes me wonder what kind of fatso seriously needs a fast food fix that damn bad to subject themselves to cramming some huge SUV in a drive through lane for an hour to eat it in the closest free parking lot.

The problem with parking is the exit route is never consistent. Saturday they had one lane of traffic leaving lot 12 and heading N. They allowed traffic from the S on Fee Lane to head N. That is not normal (hell nothing is normal for IU athletics!)
