This is off topic, but a funny story.
My son has been a licensed IHSAA ref since college. He threw a mother out of a freshman game this year. He ignored the mom's escalation of insults even when she called him a racist fascist SOB. The final straw was when she yelled out that he had fake hair. I guess she went to far with the hair. First fan he has thrown out.

The old standard for throwing out participants is the first disparaging word after “you” … because any thing after you is ‘personal’. audience members are not ‘participants’.
Hill got a big tech last year barking from the bench in a close game. I always wonder why he is sitting on the bench. He can't coach the players.

i believe the rule is just one. frequently not enforced. or randomly enforced. but in the heat of battle, its hard for assistants to remain dormant observers.
Kennesaw State bench was warned repeatedly to sit down but they never received a Technical for it.
Had great seats close to thier bench. They were a different bunch. At least three different coaches were up and some back and forth with their players that was odd and almost confrontational. They played hard.
brand new coaches for the Owls this season. definitely coaching by committee. they have a good shot at repeating in their conference run.
