Was listening to the B1G Today radio show and one of the producers was making the case for Maryland and used T-Rank numbers since 1/25 for his argument. It got me thinking about the month of February as a stand alone, so I looked at them from 02/1 to today. Some interesting things jump out.
Maryland, Michigan and Sparty all above Purdue with Maryland @10. They're all playing good ball at the right time.
IU is 327th in Defensive rebound%. That matches the eye test from watching games and is probably a function of being #38 in 3ptD. Lots of long rebounds seem to end up leading to a shot clock reset.
Neither Michigan or purdue are forcing turnovers at #345 & #349 respectively. Michigan the beneficiary of playing some bad teams, so not killing them the way it is purdue.
