Taylor switches to defense

Love this guy's attitude ("wherever Coach Allen needs me, that's where I'm gonna be"). And, as a practical matter, I've got to think that his chances of playing on Sundays are better as a defensive back coming up in Tom Allen's system than as a 5'11" QB.

He would never play QB on Sundays at 5'11". Have to believe they will still have an offensive package for him. The state championship was embarrassing for Penn and just goes to show how much more talented the MIC is. A couple MIC teams at least kept it real. This kid could shred many a defense even at the college level so hopefully there is a door still open there. That said we now have 2 QB's again at the end of the year...Then what?

That was my point. It happens (e.g. Russell Wilson) but it takes a special talent.

Then what? Tom Allen continues to recruit the position. He scored a 4* in Penix. Looks like Allen's got this.

And Ramsey will still have two years of eligibility remaining, and Penix at least three. Under the new red shirt rule, Penix can see action (and gain valuable experience) in up to four games this year and not lose a year of eligibility.

Not sure what the concern is.

He fits in a wildcat QB or RB package for sure.

It wasn’t too long ago that the Hoosiers finished the season with no legitimate quarterbacks returning. Two quarterbacks now seems like luxury.

Long-term DB is definitely a fit for him. I hope they do run some offensive stuff for him though.
