Steele named Jack Conklin and Taylor Decker 1st team over Spriggs. Offense pretty well represented except for wide receiver position. If you take out WR, which we know is a huge question mark, we're probably as well represented as anybody else. Defense, obviously, nobody. Last year I think Bennett was on the list as 2nd team. Defense has more talent but wouldn't be looking at anybody except maybe Hoff, Latham, Allen, or Scales to have a shot at 1st or 2nd team All Big at the end of the year. Would be nice if we got a surprise season from a few players defensively.
Noticed a few interesting names. Josiah Price was first-team All Big. That was one I really wish we would've gotten. I think it came down to us and MSU. Mason Monheim first team All Big. Out of Orville and not sure why but we never offered. Not sure if that was a reflection of what the current staff thought of Chase Hoobler or what, and not knocking on our current staff's recruiting obviously, but interesting. Nick Vanhoose, first team All Big. Hate to lose him. Interesting who's on the first team. You don't see the 4 stars that left like Raymon Taylor or a high 3 star like Max Pirman, it's the 2 star from small-town Ohio who was 6'0, 190 and ran a sub 4.4 40 and probably the linebacker that Chase Hoobler could have been if not for injuries. Maybe an anomaly.
