IU has lost to 3 top three teams in the 4th quarter and fans want to throw Wilson and the team under the bus. They have beat a 5-5 FIU team and an 8-2 W. Kentucky team whos only loses are to IU and LSU. Even Wake Forest has proven to be a tough opponent. The Hoosiers only bad outing was against Rutgers. Modern college football is very competative. The margin for victory and defeat is very small. IU is closing the gap. For those of you who want to complain and seek a coaching change, I suggest you talk to Nebraska fans who were unhappy for 9-3 records, and look like they have traded it for 3-9 records. Also see Purdue and Illinois for teams that can't take the long view.

I totally agree. IU football is generally fun to watch. (I said "generally"....I know, sometimes it is hard to watch.) If we had some former alum that was building a power program in the MAC; I'd consider that change. But that savior does not exist. I don't think Wilson is our biggest problem nor is firing him the best answer. We need stability so we can recruit.....and good recruiting is one of the answers.

There is someone who fits the criteria you just mentioned and you can consider that change. There is a former IU alum, an ex-IU football player no less who has built a solid program in the MAC. His name is Rod Carey and he is the head coach of Northern Illinois who showed great resolve and poise knocking off the #22 team in the country this past Tuesday at their place. Carey would be a change for the better.

Carey has done very well, but he didn't build the Northern Illinois program. Jerry Kill did that, and Dave Doeren maintained it, as has RC.

So.....if Wilson is "clearly" building the program as so many have stated on this very board, why not hand over the reigns to a guy who can get us over the hump? Wilson won't do it.

I'm not sure if Wilson is the guy to have the "reins", and I have no idea if Carey would be the guy to get them over the hump. I just know he didn't build the Northern Illinois program. Jerry Kill did that.
