A couple years ago I made that recommendation on this board. IMO nobody would deserve it more.

Depends on your criteria.....Pihos was the better player. Probably the most accomplished single player ever at IU.
Not a bad idea, at all. But first, I'd talk to the players about how they feel about touching Hep's Rock as they take the field. If they say it helps motivate them, I'd leave it right where it is. Otherwise, it's not a bad idea.I'm not sure I like the idea of a statue. I'd actually prefer they move Hep's Rock there.
You seriously don’t think George Taliaferro deserves a statue? That guy is a hall of famer and is one of the most influential football players in the history of the game. We should be thrilled to have him permanently outside our stadium.I'm not sure I like the idea of a statue. I'd actually prefer they move Hep's Rock there.
I'm not a fan of statues in general. Of anybody. If you're going to have one on the SEZ plaza, then sure, George would be a good choice. But I personally think that would diminish George's impact. George was/is much much more than an Indiana University football player. If you could figure out a way to do it, I'd have a statue of him on Indiana Avenue walking in the front door of the Gables. You seriously don’t think George Taliaferro deserves a statue? Besides, if AH can have 5 statues, MS can have one.
Personally, I find it hard to argue your point, RBB.You seriously don’t think George Taliaferro deserves a statue? That guy is a hall of famer and is one of the most influential football players in the history of the game. We should be thrilled to have him permanently outside our stadium.
