Start Leal over Goode?

Catches a rebound has a chance for another lay up attempt, but because he shit down his leg the first attempt, doesn’t even look at the basket and we wind up chucking up a last second heave instead. Unreal.

Fire him!!!

Can’t even hit a damn lay up. Sick of watching him get abused on d.
I’m sick of you bitching about Leal. This entire team gets abused on defense but you point out 1 player like a pathetic little bxxxx. I don’t see MM playing good defense ever but you don’t mention him ever.

Cause he averages a few shots per game. Not a fan of playing 4 on 5 on offense. I could give a F what you are sick of my man.

Can’t wait for Leal Trey and woody to be a memory. 2 months!

Blame Carlyle. He was supposed to start with Gallo and Cupps behind him and Rice. But Carlyle is more worthless on offense than Leal and much, much worse on defense. It's NOT EVEN CLOSE how much better Leal is on D. And hustle? Carlyle just stood on a pnr and Queen gets an easy put back. Leal ran to the rim for a possible rebound and got the deflection for an and one.

We should be a top 10 team. this is stupid, let me coach. The talent on this team is insane. I’d get K9 playing better than Leal could ever dream of I promise. He oozes potential. Coach the ****ing kid.
Dude… Carlyle is not any good brother.. I know you don’t want to hear that but it needs to be said.

I am an apologist for Woodson, kind of....One of the biggest problems with IU Basketball is kids on the floor are playing when they are not that good. Problem is there is really no good solution sitting on the bench. Galloway, Leal, Carlyle, etc....are OK players but are limited. (they can't score when open) I don't see and end in sight yet. If another coach came in would these guys start hitting open jump shots? Probably not. Would they be better at closing out on a hot shooter. Maybe.... Keep the NIL money coming, recruit smart, land the top IN players, etc...and maybe this program turns the corner.

Number 9 is by far the biggest disappointment on this team. All the talk of how great these new players will be. All summer long how talented this team will be. We go and get all of these studs to find out that they were let go for a reason. They were not good enough to keep. Oh ya, that's right, we have more money to spend. Proves how dumb we are at spending money to buy a cast off that another team deems not needed. But since these players are not as great as they were thought to be, lets play the blame game. Lets pick on someone who has given his all for IU. Lets put the blame on him. Even though hes not the best choice to put on the floor as a starter, he plays because of how bad 9 is. Stats prove what a player does, not hype.
Leal 2 point % 57.1 Number 9 28.8%
ft 57.9% 40%
3 point 44.4% 22.8%
TO .6 .9
Who do you think is paid more? Do his stats justify his income? Why would he play in front of anyone? Cant blame woody for the inability to make free throws, wide open shots and stupid plays every game. And dont get me wrong. Woody went and got these guys, so thats on him. He cant coach. He cant recruit. But both these guys play for the same coach and their results speak for themselves. One was hype, the other takes the blame. Leal will be gone after the season concludes. I wonder who will take his place as the goat next year.

What if they quit overplaying the nail and don't have to close out on shooters as much? And by not cheating towards the lane, not have to close out as far.... if the player closing isn't there with the catch, it's late .... we're always late because our wings have to guard too much space and it puts the backline player into a 1 on 2 situation where he too has to guard too much space ...

Spacing kills that defense and basketball currently is all about spacing.

True, but Woody obviously doesn't think our guards can contain the dribble, especially when we don't have Ballo hedge, but drop. So he keeps our slow footed wings in tight. They can't recover. And Mgbako has no clue what to do.

I keep hoping we hedge more or even ice the ball handler, but I'm not sure our players, particularly Mgbako, could understand the weak side rotations.

When you go down 40 to Louisville on a neutral court, you’re a bad team.

Same song, different verse.
Louisville is a pretty darn good team, well coached and has probably one of if not the best back court in the ACC. Their defense is solid, and they are hard to defend. A team to watch in the NCAA's

Who constructed this roster?

Woodson has swung and missed several Indiana HS players (except maybe Sisley) already.

I think the team has enough talent to be a solid college team but not seeing the insane talent. So yes, the underachieving is on woody. Some of them have some nice athleticism. I would of started K9 after the OSU game to see if he could get it going but he has been a major disappointment prior to that. Stanford was near the bottom of a poor conference last year and are now top 5 or so in ACC without K9. They don't seem to miss him. I'd be starting Tucker and Rice at guard but will that hurt the ball handling? When will Tucker be back?

Maybe a couple of the current IU guys (MR, tucker, Ballo, Rice) can get into the 2nd round but it likely won't be this year. Tucker is a maybe a possibility in future years as 1st round potential. Maybe Ballo this year in 2nd but my guess is UD-FA who gets a chance in summer league then G-League. If I were an NBa scout, I wouldn't spend much time scouting these guys until next season.
