Someone who has been there

Knight did it in 1989 bringing Joe Hillman, Brian Sloan and Lyndon Jones off the bench and making them starters to eventually win the big ten, BTW the conference was loaded that year.

Whatever helps you sleep at night. Don’t worry, I’ll welcome you with open arms when you come over to the be dark side.
Sleep at night? lol

Is Archie blameless? Obviously not - but Odle has much more of an idea what could be going on than 99.999999999% of this board. The point is there are no easy answers.

Things are going on with this group internally. If something comes out that Archie is culpable for to cause team dissension, I’ll rip the hell out of him. Until then I’ll reserve judgment on things I don’t know about.

Talent level isn’t comparable. Not even a valid point. Let’s try to not always revert back to Knight”. You can always tell when people don’t have a grasp on things. They always revert back. Move on people please.

Wrong.

Hillman was a starter from day 1 in 1989; Sloan was an early-season starter who went back to a reserve roll; Lyndon entered the lineup about 7 games in.

Listen, I'm ok with people having different opinions than me. Just have them based in some semblance of fact. Google is your best friend in that regard.

Claiming there are internal issues with the team is no more factual than anything else other posters are saying. If you want facts, post facts yourself.

Yes, how did we get here? Didn’t the Loyola coach say IU had FF Potential after the closed practice? And then there was the Marquette game. What happened to that team? Yes, we have had injuries, way more than our fair share, but I think you might be on to something there, Tassie. This feels a lot like not only 2013 but also the post Sampson team. Resigned.

Yes, how did we get here?

Smith’s dad bitching on Twitter - as he was after the 1st Michigan game. Now, is it because Archie has done something - or Archie isn’t “featuring” Justin?

As far as Loyola coach’s comments after the closed scrimmage, remember we had a fully healthy Hunter and Thompson then. Would they have made a difference if they were healthy today? Maybe, maybe not.

Point is, again: there are no easy answers here. This could be a product of Archie’s coaching, or it also could be certain guys/ their families have their own agendas they’re trying to push. No one is happy with what’s going on, But firing a guy a year and a half in is how you fix it? Geesh . . .

I remember one of the reasons Crean apologists used to say we shouldn't pull the plug on him is that we won't be able to get anyone good to come to IU if we did. "How can we fire someone who won the big ten last year! No one good will come."
Well, I do think firing after a year and a half might do the trick.

i'm pretty sure a few coaches might come for $15 million guaranteed contract
