No, I have not looked this up to verify it, but I sense that this is one of the rare times that less than half of the Big Ten teams, ( 8 of 18) have made the tournament since it has been expanded. In comparison, the SEC had 14 teams out of 16. It is obvious what league is better. On top of that the Big Ten has a shaky number 2 seed but no number 1's and then some shaky teams seeded in the top 7 that may not be deserving of those relatively high seeds. Yes, I know IU beat MSU (a team that cannot shoot and has no stars at all) at MSU but other than that the Hoosiers had no significant wins, lost seven of eight games at one point, and played a non conference schedule that featured cupcakes and two teams, Louisville and Gonzaga, who blew them out. The fact that the Hoosiers did not make the big dance is not surprising and that is made an even worse reality when you realize how down the entire Big Ten was this year.
