I'ts probably a gripe about ESPN's control of it as much as the structure itself, but whatever. It's all related.
Why can't we find out our bowl destination now?
The top three BT teams are going to the Playoff tier no matter what happens on Saturday. Every bowl down the line undoubtedly has their picks already made. Why do we have to wait until the selection show on Sunday to find out? Plans have to be made, hotels have to be booked, vacation days have to be scheduled. Throw us a bone.
The old bowl system without all the guaranteed bids was more fun. In 1986, after the Bucket game, the All-American Bowl representative was waiting in the locker room for the team with bid in hand. We knew right away and had more than a month to plan. Now we'll have one day to get priority order in for tickets. That blows.
