"The majority of Republicans are pleased with the direction of the country under Donald Trump, with satisfaction among party members the highest it has been since 2007, a new survey has revealed.

A poll from Gallup, released on Monday, showed that 61 percent of Republicans are satisfied with the way things are going in the country, while just six percent of Democrats and seven percent of Independents feel the same.

And among the GOP voters who were questioned by the poll, which was conducted between January 2-7, one in four said they were “very satisfied” with the direction of the country, while 23 percent of Republicans said they were dissatisfied and 15 percent were very dissatisfied."

So this shows the GOP split 61-38,but Dems and Indies more in the 6/7- 93% range. With the proclivity for party in power voters to sit out midterms,it's (seemingly) no wonder a record # of incumbent Pubs have opted to "retire"...

These numbers look pretty devastating to me,in terms of where Trump was on election day.Looking at the key states of Mich,Wisc and PA,which Trump won by about a 1% avg,he got 90% of Pub votes and over 50% of Indie votes. That's like a 40% drop in states he barely won to begin with. And these are all states where I'm guessing the "tax cut" is not going to be enough to offset the loss of key deductables and drive pro-Pub voters to the polls.

The amazing thing is if he wou,d just shut his big mouth and get out of his own way, with the waynthe economy is, his numbers should be phenomenal. But it's no surprise he can't do that.

Sounds good, but doubt it. His Republican favorability is already sky high and the reasons for that have to do with anything but the economy. Wages aren't going up appreciably, jobs aren't coming back, none of his populist promises are coming true. He's liked by arch-conservatives because his actions have been about as far right as any president ever, but all he's done for his under-educated white male base is a petty decrease in their tax rate.
