IMO we are so close to turning that corner as a program. First of all the team is now 3-0 and has a great chance to have a good record and make a bowl which obviously changes the perception of a program.
Secondly, look at how the offense is doing. Howard has been amazing and leads the nation in yards, Jones is in the top ten and Nate is up there in stats too. Recruits have to take notice.
Thirdly, the defense has much room to improve but you have to like the talent that is out there. Most of the secondary has players performing on raw ability at this time and you can still see so much potential. Some of those players like Crawford and Scales are going to be so much better when they can combine their natural ability with skill they will acquire over time.
Finally, IMO you give Wilson that extension and allow him to recruit on a even playing field because the program is getting there but needs the long term security.
