Here's an article from a year ago about Harrison's coach writing a letter to IHSAA Commisioner Paul Neidig laying out his concerns about the effects recruiting and players transfering to other schools is having on high school basketball in the state. The coach of Arsenal Tech, one of the schools in the article, was suspended for the last few games at the end of last season for violating the IHSAA's "Past-Link" transfer rule. That rule states that a high school coach who coaches a player (who isn't currently enrolled at the coach's school) on an AAU team can't have that player on the high school team until 1 year afterwards. And an interesting aside, last month Arsenal Tech announced that it would be the leaving the North Central Conference (which Harrison, Muncie Central, and Kokomo are in) at the end of this season.
'High school basketball in Indiana is at a tipping point.' How one coach won't lie down.
Harrison coach sent letter to IHSAA outlining what he sees as “high school basketball programs in our state operating like prep schools..."
