Shivers to the house!

I hope that wasn’t the #1 defense out there. About 6 guys up front got way out of position and that one LB was juked out of his jock.
Still good to see a back with that kind of breakaway speed.
It’s the reason these type of guys sign with the Auburns of the world out of high school. Glad he’s on our team.

I think it was a safety, not a LB. Looked like #18 to me but that can't be right. Maybe #19, Sanguinetti?

Agreed terrible D, but a very nice move. I think he's going to be ok, no worse than an average BT TB.

Misdirection plays cancatch a D out of position and create opportunities. Do you have the speed/shiftiness to make the D pay? This clip suggests Shivers does.

But, it also shows our D has some wheels, too. He didn't exactly pull away from people and Williams made up a ton of ground.

The bright side for the O is no one could catch up to Shivers. The cut that put the player on his back wad special; and he did it at full speed!

One side of the ball will always be unhappy during an intrasquad scrimmage.

Here's some of his highlights at Auburn...

That's some pretty serious talent that he's doing that to... 😉🍺
What's most impressive to me is that while most of those clips are of plays designed for wide runs, he gets north/south in a hurry. Once he does, he takes on contact at full burst rather than trying to dance. Love guys that get what they know they can, then fall forward for two more.

I hope we can block decently enough for him that he has a chance to get full acceleration.

I love the small bowling ball type backs! He'll hide behind the line, then explode through the hole. Low center of gravity, plus the shiftyness will let him pick through the traffic and find daylight. Going to be tough to bring down and fun to watch.

Probably the most impressive thing I saw with him, apart from his explosiveness, were the numerous plays where he stayed on his feet for extra yardage. There were clips of him where other backs might be tackled for a loss behind the line and he avoided tackles in the backfield and got out around the edge for positive gains. Other instances where he was down field and appeared to be cornered against a sideline and he squirmed out for extra yards. That can mean the difference in moving the sticks versus punting the ball.
