Both Fields and Buechle were granted eligibility really quick. Fields played in a lot of games last year. This decision is a head scratcher.
In Buechle's case he might be graduating and given 2 years to play at SMU. He played in 2 games last year. I can't understand why Tuttle's case is taking so long. Tuttle never played at Utah.

Buechele is a grad transfer ... no waiver needed, automatic eligibility.

Fields was the easiest to see getting approved. Regardless of how you view the merits of the case, neither the NCAA or Georgia wanted people talking about a player being harassed with racial slurs. I’m guessing Georgia told Fields if he didnt stay in the SEC, they wouldn’t contest it and he hired a very well known attorney to represent him. If it got slowed down or denied, it would have gotten very ugly for everybody involved.

Tuttle is more a straight forward transfer due to playing time and/or not getting along with coaching staff.

Not surprised Fields got his waiver. NCAA has proven itself time and again to be gutless when it comes to their cash cows (UNC, UM, now OSU). There will continue to be no consistency in their rulings. Just make everyone transferring eligible to play immediately (or not) but stop with the sham "hardship" circumstances. You would think by now the NCAA would realize what a joke they've become in these kind of matters.

The situation was so bad he stuck around and played in 12 games??? Albeit, not as the starter, call it what it is...THE KID DIDN'T WANT TO COMPETE with Fromm. Did the racist incident happen? Yes, and the baseball player was dismissed.

Interesting the Fields' situation was such a "hardship" that his sister is still on campus playing softball.

I'm not blaming the kid, but the spineless NCAA. They continue to tie themselves in knots citing "what's good for the student-athlete and it's member institutions." Just stop already!!
