The team has a winning record and played the national champions to a competitive game.

Wilson isn't going anywhere if he has 5 wins going into the Bucket Game.

An upset win over Michigan State/Iowa/Michigan and all is forgotten. IU might be favored at Maryland.

Yes, it is over. The team is going to pack it in like we always do after brutal losses.

We were favored today.

Yeah, that's not happening. I have a better chance of a three-way with Kate Upton and Mariah Carey that IU has of upsetting MSU/IOWA/MICH.
Mariah Carey? You're emotionally distraught and dangerously unstable. Seek immediate help.

I'm not so sure I agree with that statement. IU under Wilson tends to bounce back well after losing a close home game they were large favorites in.

In 2014 after losing as a 8 point home favorite Bowling Green 45-42, IU went to a ranked Missouri and won.

In 2013 after losing as a 9 point home favorite to Minnesota 42-39, IU beat Illinois the next week by 3 scores.

And how many 6-6 or better seasons has he taken us? Oh wait...

Let's face it. Wilson might have recruited a little better than Lynch, but at the end of the day his record isn't any better. I've been a Wilson defender to my friends, but even I'm done with him. I know Purdue is putrid this year, but if we somehow go into that game needing 1 more win for bowl eligibility I'm putting my money on Purdue winning and keeping us out of a bowl, because that's exactly the kind of game that suckers our team into throwing away like this.

MSU isn't Mizzou or Illinois.

But look around yesterday at the game: many on the alumni side of the stadium stayed at home.
I think that a lot of IU football fans are sick of the same thing happening: getting by in our non-conference games (barely, if we are lucky, like this year), then getting manhandled in the B1G ten. Rinse, repeat....
The team might not quit going forward, but the fans have. I saw Fred Glass at Henke Hall, and I really hope that he saw that smattering of fans on the press box side of the stadium like I saw....

You are right the season isn't over yet...we still have 5 more games to endure

I agree PSU put it to us but I would not say that we have been manhandled by either OSU or Rutgers.

The team needs to keep fighting and playing hard.
Yesterday we had 3 turnovers and their D scored a touchdown. I wonder what percentage of teams overcome those numbers and actually win a game?

Hats off to Rutgers as they did not quit.
Bad on IU for taking their foot off the gas when we hit 52 points.

If the team continues to compete and does not quit I think CKW will be around next year. If he is around I think they should give him an extension with a very small buyout.

The program has come a long way under his time here. Unfortunately that has not translated in the W column but I think it will.

IU could not win the MAC in football. It has been the same story for the last 45 years. Young people may not remember the glory days of IU Basketball, but they also do not remember almost 50 years of IU football futility. I don't remember the IU Rose Bowl of 1967 so my entire lifetime IU football has be a frustration of losing football and no defense. IU has possibly the worst football program of any BCS Conference shool over the last 50 years. I hate football because the teams that I root for in HS and IU never win. But these same schools have been very successful in Basketball, Baseball, and Soccer.

And now, you don't even have basketball to hang your hat on. Sucks wit Clappy roaming the sideline and the team is lucky to finish higher than 5th. The big boys control this conference now in both sports. Get used to it.

Don't we only need to wins to be bowl eligible or doesn't the win over an FCS program count? We better beat Maryland and Purdue and, honestly, MSU is the most overrated top 10 team in the country. They had a tough time with a couple of lowly opponents including Purdue and one of those "directional" Michigan schools. Maybe there will be an upset. We'll see.

You are correct - 2 more wins to become bowl eligible. I would put my money on Wilson losing out. What makes anyone think he can win with things on the line?
He's already proven he isn't head coach material.

This is where Wilson will have a shot at redemption, somewhat.

We'll likely need two road wins, after 6 straight losses, to secure a bowl. However, we may be favored in both, barring injuries. He leads us to a bowl after staring over that precipice, then maybe he saves his gig. Would you agree? Much more dramatic.

Obviously our big question mark next year will be at the QB position, but just about everyone agrees that the talent level on the roster is much better than in years past, and much of it is still pretty young. With that, why does everyone think that a coaching change after the year will send us into another rebuilding mode? With as much talent as we have returning (by IU standards at least) if we get a coach in here who can put them in the right position, with the right scheme, with discipline, and the ability to manage a game, why do we think it would be starting over?

Get someone in here who can make the simple changes, get the D competent and manage a game, get to 7 wins and the recruits will notice and the recruiting drop off should not be that great.

Who is that person? Not sure as I have not looked yet, but if the talent level is the best it has been in many years and the results are not there on the field and we are making the same coaching mistakes as in years past, why do we think a change is a bad thing?

Please remove the needle from the record . . . it's apparently scratched, because it's skipping back to the same groove over and over again.
