I don't even like baseball very much, let alone the Cubs, but he has really renewed my interest in the game. So cool to see a great Hoosier doing big things.

I'm both a long-time Cubs fan and IU fan and to see this kid come up and make such a dynamic impact gives me a joy you wouldn't believe.

Another Indiana connection is Clayton Richard, who is from Lafayette. He didn't go to Purdue, so he's okay.

He went to Michigan (football) and was beat out by Chad Henne for the staring qb job, then switched to baseball at UM. I played with him in high school, caught many of his bullpen sessions. Really good dude.

That's what I hear about him from friends in that area-great student and great guy. And his old man is Tipp. Co. sheriff.

Yep, really good guy and family. But his work ethic is tremendous. Another Indiana connection, on the cardinals side, is Lance Lynn. Lynn played at Brownsburgh HS, played at Ole Miss. His pitching coach at ole miss was current IU pitching coach Kyle Bunn. Lance Lynn is a competitor.
