Schwarber #4 overall to Cubs**

That they do but there is no pitcher left worth the #4 pick. They will sign KS under-slot (3 mil?) and go after one of the high ceiling HS pitchers that drops due to a strong college commitment and offer them way over-slot with the money saved on Schwarber and their #2 pick.

If he doesn't stick at C he'll be a productive major leaguer. If he sticks at catcher he has a chance to be an All-Star with his bat.
Taking a pitcher just to take a pitcher is a big risk. Lots of HS players are busts. Cubs thought Schwarber was the best player available.

Lololol he's looking 4.5-3 million in the face, he's not coming back. Had heard earlier in the week that don't be surprised if it's the Cubs at 4 to take him. I laughed and said "really?", apparently Epstein has been in love with Schwarber for a while.

Did MLB Network interview him?
I didn't get home until after he had already been drafted, and I found the video of the pick analysis online, but didn't see if he had been interviewed. If so, is there a link somewhere?

You draft value, you buy/trade for what you need. As a Cubs and an IU fan I was really pumped! Cubs have added the best power bat in last year's draft (Bryant) and one of the best in this year's draft (Schwarber) to Baez, Soler, and Rizzo. They already have some guys that are blocked who they can trade for pitching or they can buy it since most of their position players will be young pups on friendly deals.
