Schedule

Don’t like that we only get Nebraska, Maryland, Minny, and PSU once. Not playing at Kohl or at OSU is nice though.

my guess is Wisconsin plays IU, Michigan, Illinois, Michigan state, Purdue, and Iowa only once. Seems to workout that way for them often.

Pretty shitty draw if you ask me. Having to play Michigan, Illinois, and Michigan State stinks. Still a pretty manageable schedule all in all based on who is staying and going around the conference. I think at worst case is 13-7 with ceiling being 16-4. 16-4 should be enough to at least T-1st, maybe win it outright. Illinois got some huge favors however.

If we take care of business at home and win a few of the roadies in the home and away portion, I like the schedule for seeding and the conf.

Nice summ up

Illinois got a cake walk. They will be primed to lose early like usual

Win at home and tie on the road. Can we do only 1 loss at home and be .500 or just over away?
Sorry, I shouldn't have been in such a hurry with the response. Win at home and then win the ones, were supposed to win on the road. Go into Ann Arbor, E Lansing, w Laffy and champaign and take 2 maybe 3 of those 4 and then only lose one or two of those at home was where my head was. Gotta beat wiscy and OSU at home though.

The more I've looked at it...without question IU got hosed. The only good thing is our schedule is going to give us tons of Quad 1 opportunities I bet. Which will help with NCAA seeding.

A year we could actually win in hell, I mean Kohl? Wish we could have broken the streak this year

Well with our non conference opponents, at least the SOS should not come into question this year.

well, if we've got to get a tough schedule, probably best when we are projected as the best team and it's a relatively "weak" conference year on paper. If we're the top team, at least we don't have to play them twice! My biggest disappointment is I wish we got a shot at WI in the Kohl.

I have 22 and 20 year old kids who have never seen us win in Madison.

For 2021-22, Wisconsin and Illinois tied for the regular season championship at 15-5.

For 2020-21, Michigan won the regular season at 14-3 (standings and records distorted by Covid).

For 2029-20, Wisconsin, Michigan State and Maryland tied for the regular season championship at 14-6.

So, Bob Knight's formula of "win all home games and win half of the road games" apparently will still place a team right at the top of the regular season standings.

I like our away only games. Home only seems tougher.
That it is even being discussed as unfair is the loser mentality that we've had for 20+ years and need to shed. Who cares, the expectation should be to win them all wherever and whoever. We will never be elite again till that expectation returns and people stop bitching about refs and schedules

Thank you. Whining about the schedule is for losers. We get enough of that from our football fans.

It's been a long time since we've had the level of talent and experience we have in a down conference year. Yes, lots of new pieces and chemistry needed, but I think to not expect a top 3 finish is lowering the bar too far
