You obviously no very little about recruiting to make this post right now. Signing day isn't until February and several of these kids have visited IU recently on multiple occasions even though the may be "verballed" elsewhere. It's been my experience over the years that if you get a kid to visit, he's still looking around some. So your "sad" comment is baseless at this point!dfdffd

A. Signing Day is 4 months away. Verbals are pretty meaningless.Good ole Jim H is sure getting his share.
A camp At Chartard HS. Really?
Don't think he had one in Columbus O.
Until the program is established as a winning one, recruiting in Indiana will continue to be very challenging for the top kids, none of whom are likely to flip to IU.dfdffd
The good news is that the players ranked 11-20 are better than ever. If IU can get 5 of the top 20 kids in state that would be a good start. I hope the program is comprised of mostly-half?-in state vs out of state. Crowds will increase for sure.Until the program is established as a winning one, recruiting in Indiana will continue to be very challenging for the top kids, none of whom are likely to flip to IU.
Not enough D1 players in Indiana who are Big Ten level to do that. The good news is that the players ranked 11-20 are better than ever. There are at least 10-15 players in the Indy area that are Big Ten level. Are you unfamiliar with Indiana HS football. Indiana HS football is full of talent. Brownsburg has 2 Big Ten recruits for crying out loud. Let me guess, you are not from Indiana? Not enough D1 players in Indiana who are Big Ten level to do that.
There might be ten in certain years, tops. You're vastly overvaluing the talent level there. Just not that many power five level kids. Rosters prove that without question. There are at least 10-15 players in the Indy area that are Big Ten level. Are you unfamiliar with Indiana HS football. Indiana HS football is full of talent. I get your point, but right now we haven't established that we are beating out PU often enough. They got a couple this fall that we surely could have used (esp. at RB as it turns out...).at this point in the process every high school kid in the country envisions themselves playing at Ohio State, Alabama, or USC. once they realize those offers aren't coming through mid tier programs like Indiana will fill out their rosters.
That's one reason why todays game is so important. We are competing with the Maryland's Minnesota's and maybe now Wiscosin's for recruiting not the SEC and PAC 10. the future is brighter as its a step above competing with the Purdue's and Mac teams for players that we have been.
Again, I don't think you have any knowledge about IN HS football. It's at an all time high. I agree years ago, not so much. But in recent years, Indy and Fort Wayne have produced significant talent. ND's best player is from FW, in fact. There might be ten in certain years, tops. You're vastly overvaluing the talent level there. Just not that many power five level kids. I'm not saying there isn't talent, it just doesn't exist on the high end at the numbers you've suggested.Again, I don't think you have any knowledge about IN HS football. It's at an all time high. Thanks for doing this research, as it backs up my earlier point. I knew it existed, I just wasn't sure where to find it. I've said for several years now, as I follow the MIC here in the Indy area, that if we could just lock down the state, maybe get 25% of the Top 20 players annually, that will get us over the hump. You would have to follow Indiana HS football to know that. Obviously many on here do not. There are two DL's at CG, one of who I think has a brother at IU, that would look great on the DL in BTOWN. Plus there are at least 3 QBs.top 10 players and the schools
