Ironic that Ukraine took the brunt of both Hitler and Stalin in WWII, provided a huge part of the Soviet Army, and Putin, who didn't serve in the military, is the one who is taking the credit.

16.3% of Ukrainian population killed.

26,600,000 soviet people killed, or 13.7% of its population.

Poland lost 17.05% of its population.

4.456 mil german soldier deaths.
6.570 mil russian soldier deaths
1.650 mil Ukraine soldier deaths.

Staggering numbers.

Not for nothing, but half the Polish deaths were Jews that the Polish government was already looking to get rid of before the war started.

I think we're talking non-puppet states, but yes. Russia by itself would have got its ass kicked by the Nazis.

Putin says he won't agree to it unless other countries are prohibited from supplying Ukraine during the ceasefire.

No mention of stoppage of aid from N. Korea, Iran, and China. lol

I like the general philosophy and the ceremony of the Catholic church. I just can't get past the worship of Mary and the Saints.

I also am not really sure I approve of priests getting stinking drunk, but I suppose they deserve that right, since they have to be celibate.

I wish I believed in being able to buy your way to forgiveness. That would really help me out on Judgement Day.

They don't worship Mary and the saints. That's a (false) Protestant description of intercession.

Not exactly. It implies that prayer "stacks," so to speak, so if the saints add their prayers to yours, they become more powerful.

I agree there is no biblical justification for such a concept. I'm only pointing out that it doesn't mean Catholics "worship" the saints.
