Good omen here. RSCI is the combined recruiting ranking of top 100 freshmen each year.

Since 2000, a clear trend emerges:

2001, 2002: Jeffries (9), Fife (14): 21-13, 25-12
2003-05: Bracey Wright (12)
2008: DJ White 05-08 (13), Eric Gordon (3): 25-8
2012-13 Cody Zeller (10) 27-9, Yogi Ferrell(25) 29-7
2014: Noah Vonleh (8), Yogi (25) 17-15
2015-16: James Blackmon (20), Yogis (25), Thomas Bryant (25) 27-8
2017: Blackmon (20), Bryant (25) 18-16
2019: Romeo Langford (5) 19-16
2022: TJD 2020-23 (26), Tamar Bates (27) 21-14
2023: TJD (26), Bates (27), Jordan Hood-Shifino(20), Malik Reneau (25)

If they have 2 they tend to win, if they have 3 they win more, if they have 4....?

Good trend

Hope we see the trend continue positively

The other thing that emerges is that there is not a lot of uncertainty if you cut it off around top 30. They are all good. Bates, after one year , is the biggest exception but that can change.

And 2 of them will be coming off the bench most likely.

Can't wait to see it all play out. If all 4 play up to their rankings...we're gonna have a fun year.

So many underutilized assets on that list. Shows the sustained power of IU as a brand.

Fortunately, it appears we may have the staff to finally make the classes pay off.

and we don't have bad talent beyond that, rankings wise at least. TG, RT, LD, JG, and Banks were all in the top 100 area code. I'd imagine pretty similar rankings-wise to some of the good Villanova teams, which I thought was a good model for us. Much better than the lower half of the CTC rosters I think. Not sure where Kopp was, but I think he may have been a top 100 kid also.
