Kelvin would have someone else call the prospect on their phone, then when the prospect answered, they'd say Kelvin wants to talk to you, then hand the phone to Kelvin.

IU brass knew, thus why they put the intern in on it in the first place, so they could say they didn't know pre the intern finding the calls.
they only had the intern find them, because the NCAA had asked for the phone records, and i think the phone records were supposed to be sent in the next day or so.
they couldn't have the NCAA discover them first.
kind of like admitting you have drugs as you see the cop with a drug dog in tow coming up your front walk, then claiming you should get a break for self reporting.
the "it was just a few texts", and "we self reported", was a highly sanitized version.

Are you suggesting a cover-up? Come on, Mark. There are lots of plausible reasons why Trump would have been off the phone for seven hours during an insurrection where his Vice President was forced to stop the certification of the election of Trump's successor and run for his life. Here are some possible explanations:
1. He was meeting with architects to plan the design for the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library.
2. He was flushing documents down White House toilets.
3. He was binge-watching old episodes of The Apprentice.
4. He and Melania were packing.
5. He and Melania were "doing the deed" for the last (and first) time in the White House.
6. He was following through on a New Year's resolution to get in shape and was working out in the White House gym.
7. He was giving Giuliani tips on no-drip hair dye.
8. He was hosting a luncheon for White House staffers, including two scoops of ice cream for him and just one for everyone else.
9. He was dismantling his Vladimir Putin altar.
10. The battery on the phone died and he couldn't find the charger.

Interesting none of the Trumpers here seem to think this is a big deal. The President having a burner phone to start with and then erasing the large majority of the records. Those of you trying to say Jan. 6 was nothing… it sure appears Trump thought it was something. Otherwise, why the criming again? He just can’t stop himself. Gotten away with it his entire life.
Trump is an unmitigated criminal on multiple levels and by large people notice. You don’t have to witness it to know it. A prevalent problem in our society is that people are unwilling or unable to confront evil. Thus people are able to vote for Trump despite knowing they’re accomplices to his crimes.
Putin could shoot 10,000 Ukrainian women and children in the middle of 5th Ave, i mean Red Square, and his supporters wouldn't care.
no one understands, manipulates, and uses, the "us vs them" is all that matters mentality of the simple minded, more than dictators and wannabes.
the Putins and Trumps of history are the heroes of the dishonest and immoral, but unfortunately the just dumber than a box of rocks as well, who never see, nor will ever see, anything they don't want to see.
that said, many of the supporters of the Trumps and Putins aren't all oblivious to the Trumps and Putins total failings as decent humans.
they just don't care.
they are not going to care.
you can never make them care.
it's just who they are.

It's one thing after another with Trump. It never ends. Now, while Putin is bombing hospitals, schools and residential neighborhoods in Ukraine, and slaughtering women and children, Trump is asking him to produce dirt on Biden. Honest to God, there are no words for this anymore.
And here's the thing. His devotees don't even attempt to defend any of this on the merits anymore probably because even they realize, at least on some level, that it's all indefensible. So what they do is immediately pivot to something or someone else, with a lame false equivalence. But Trump has no equivalents. He's a one-of-a-kind POS.
