RIP Willie Mays

The ‘say hey’ kid has passed away at 93. One of my favorite players. He, Hank Aaron and Mickey Mantle were three of the greatest of all times and my favorites.
Willie was my favorite. My prayers go up to his family. Thank you Willie, you were my childhood hero.

I’m so out of touch with baseball you could have told me Willy Mays passed away 20 years ago and I wouldn’t have flinched. Do they still sell the Hudepohl 14-K Process in Crosley? The biggest home run hit I ever saw there was launched by Willy McCovey, a bazooka-blaster into right field’s upper deck.

I never got to see him play but always enjoyed interviews with him. He seemed like a down to Earth guy who loved life and people.
Willie had flair b4 it was acceptable. He was gracious. He was a 4-tool guy,he could run, hit, catch and throw. We did not have an organized little league when I was little. I played a lot of sandlot baseball trying to be him.....lol
