Saw where former UK QB Jared Lorenzen passed away.

Man, was he ever fun to watch in college. It was amazing that a guy his size could be a starting quarterback in the SEC. But he was pretty nimble for his size. And that arm...

RIP

Thanks for the condolences. He was beloved at Kentucky. 38 is what I will be turning soon. Plus that’s so damn young. Rip big guy. Thanks for the acknowledgment op.

Uh, that was one of his nicknames (Hefty Lefty was the other one)...and he wore it with pride. He even had his own line of Tshirts — Throwboy Tees. Check them out here: ThrowboyTees.

I’m sure he’s not able to use the Pillsbury name on any shirts. But he did have one with the image:

I met Jared once, when he was playing indoor football in Evansville. Great guy...and he lit up when I recognized him and called him the Pillsbury Throwboy.

Who watches UK football? Seriously like most most of us dont even watch IU football.
Strange post

Well, I don't watch a whole lot of UK football. But I watched a number of games when Throwboy was playing. Somebody asked me if I'd seen Kentucky's 300lb quarterback and I thought they were kidding. So I tuned in just out of curiosity -- and was struck by just how good he was. I'd never seen anything like it, and still haven't. So I was really watching more to see him than his team.

I also watched a few games this past season -- including their Citrus Bowl win over Penn State. Josh Allen was a genuine stud and, as much as it pains me to say it, UK was a legitimate national contender last year. Better than any team we've ever had.

I'm sorry to hear this, I remember watching the game UK played that went something like 6 OT's, Jared was fired up on the sideline...

A talented player no doubt.
