Reneau

He’s 6’9 220. He’s not a 5. He’s a 4 that can guard multiple positions and is an extremely good rebounder.
247 and ESPN both have him listed at 6'8 , I think they have the right information.

Rivals lists him at 6’9 225 and irregardless 6’8 or 6’9 is irrelevant for a 4 man. He’s not a stiff like Payton Sparks who plays back to the basket and under the rim.
Why do you keep bringing up Sparks?

I really like what I see in Malik. Appears to be between 6'8 and 6'9 although he looks heavier than the 210 247 lists which I'm guessing is old. From what I've read and seen he's a 4/5 tweener. Isn't an exceptional athlete like TJD but athletic enough. Looks like a very good rebounder and willing defender and is more advanced on that side of the ball now than offensively which is a surprise for a freshman. Looks like he has an ok jump shot but good enough ball skills to take defenders off the bounce. Can guard a few different positions and can put him in a variety of lineups.

Don't know how serious he is about coming to IU but there was definitely mutual interest the first go around. Would guess hometown Miami is going to be tough to beat out especially with their surprise run to the S16 but depending on roster turnover he could have major role right away here in Bloomington.

Seven footers have worked out real well for Gonzaga, Michigan, Purdue. They are all still in the tournament. I see a pattern here don't you.
Yes, but there’s a pretty good chance neither of them will win it all. Look at Baylor last season, they had a 6’9” guy, a 6’6” guy and 3 guards under 6’5”. Small ball is taking over and the guards are most important.

Agree with that. But you must have rim protection. So your 6’8 and 6’9 guys have to be long, athletic, and good defenders.
Rim protection with TJD, Race, and JG was excellent - which is a big reason why the defense was so good.

still have a couple of Montverde's games on the DVR.

i'll have to fire those up again, but hope i don't get myself worked up just to be let down, so will keep my hopes of landing him in check.

would obviously be a huge get if we have an opening.
