To win in the Big Ten Eastern division it appears that Indiana needs to start signing top 30 type of classes. I don't see anyway around this, the fellow Eastern schools are doing that and more.
Coach Wilson has certainly recruited better than many coaches before him at IU but it's obviously relative to the situation. While Lynch may have been recruiting classes ranked between 70-80, Wilson has signed some top 40-50 classes I believe.
I really do believe that IU needs to sign top 30 type of classes to compete and win consistently in the Big Ten East. IU could win with top 50 classes in the Big Ten West...there's a HUGE discrepancy between the two divisions right now and going forward IMO. How does IU recruit to that level is the million dollar question.
