Reason #197 why Tom Brady is a @#%&

Never liked the guy much (respect his accomplishments though!), and he is becoming an annoying diva.

But as to the timing, NFL free agency starts on Tuesday* I think, and Tampa Bay may have lost guys, maybe even Gronk. Deciding now was important to TB retaining FAs.

edit
* Free agency legal tampering actually starts at NOON TOMORROW

Yeah sure. After a good night's sleep, he's still a prick for doing it immediately after the brackets are released.
If he waited a week, it would be like Geronimo getting cleared by the doctors on Wednesday to play vs. Wyoming, the night before...

Brady is doing this for Giselle. He didn't want her to be in Canton at the same time as Ben Rapistberger, 5 years from now. So there will be a one year buffer.

Peter King confirms Brady's thinking about having to announce it yesterday, at the latest

There was a subplot in the Brady return Sunday. It revolved around Brady and free-agent Bucs center Ryan Jensen.

Jensen’s agent, Mike McCartney, had been engaged in talks to try to get Jensen, 30, re-signed before the legal tampering began today at noon ET. (Indications are that this was the deadline for TB). But it was a slog. McCartney wanted $13 million per year for Jensen, minimum, to stay in Tampa, and the cap-strapped Bucs weren’t going there. But Sunday afternoon, Brady reached out to Jensen. What he said exactly, I don’t know. But it was something like, I’m coming back and I need you and we gotta get your deal done. Maybe Brady said he pushed the Bucs to be sure they got a deal done with Jensen.

Brady doesn’t have a lot of must-haves, or guys he feels close to and really wants to have at his side. Tight end Ron Gronkowski is one, a clear number one. Jensen, on the Bucs, is two. Particularly with the uncertainty at guard in Tampa with the retirement of Pro Bowler Ali Marpet, getting his center back was a must for Brady.

So Brady calling Jensen, and Brady coming back, did two things: It motivated Jensen to forgo the market, where McCartney thought he might be able to get a $15-million-a-year average. And it motivated the Bucs—clearly after Brady telling them he wanted Jensen back—to up the offer to the veteran center to get the deal done Sunday night, before McCartney could begin playing one offer against another today.

The happy result for player and team: Jensen signed for three years and $39 million (in Florida, with the plus of no state tax). He didn’t want to move, and now gets to stay with Brady and the Bucs. And Tampa ensures the return of both tackles and a very good center who Brady valued greatly. Win-win.

Regarding Brady’s other priorities: Gronkowski’s free, and his friends think he’ll return if Brady asks. Wide receiver Chris Godwin, a Brady favorite, is rehabbing a torn ACL while on the franchise tag. I’d expect the Brady return to influence Godwin’s decision to sign the tag or do a longer deal. He loves Brady.

So he does have other means of communicating with Tampa Bay and players outside of Twitter and Insta. He obviously told the people that needed to know, prior to posting it after the brackets were revealed. Thanks for posting that.

100% dick move by an attention whoring prick.

Keep telling me you really don't like him, while showing me how much you really like him.

Like I said, he's become a diva and an attention whore. But if he had waited even one more day, he would have been much worse. Multiple free agent signings are happening today.

Now we can do a more informed analysis. Tom Brady un-retiring when he did allowed and/or prompted the signing or re-signing of the following free agents:

WR Russell Gage
G Shaq Mason
CB Logan Ryan
WR Chris Godwin
CB Carlton Davis
RB Leonard Fournette
DL Will Gholston
C Ryan Jensen
WR Breshad Perriman
G Aaron Stinnie
LS Zach Triner
T Josh Wells
RB Giovani Bernard

A few others, like Gronk, are probably only a matter of time. They did lose a few and they have a few others to re-sign.

So if he had patiently waited for some college basketball tournament to run its course like the idiotic opening post suggested, the Bucs would be screwed. I hope they are screwed anyway, since I am not a fan.

But the verdict is in fact in. It was precisely the perfect time to make that decision and announcement, the day before the beginning of free agency.

I think it’s pretty obvious why Tom Brady “retired” when he did. It was a hissy fit because he doesn’t like Arians.

And whaddya know, Brady kisses ass in the Glazers suite, then “unretires”, which is followed 18 days later by Arians “retirement”, even though he’s said all along he WASN’T retiring and his health isn’t an issue.

Brady is a coach killing turd.

Why do you think he’s no longer in New England?

He didn’t derail Belichick but it wasn’t from a lack of trying.
But, you know, Brady has all these new wave stretching techniques, self-improvement videos like Tony Robbins, his own health advice website, sells his own faddish nutritional supplements under his TB12 name, and got insulted when the Patriots kicked his personal trainer/business affiliate out of the Patriot locker room. After all, Brady was his own brand name.

Brady implicitly suggests his training techniques allow him to play NFL quarterback
longer than anybody else.

Meanwhile, snarly, grouchy, pudgy Bill Belichick has run a marathon and several half-marathons and reportedly is training for the 2022 Boston Marathon (that's 26.2 miles, folks). Oh, yes, Belichick is now 69-years-old and will be 70 on April 16 and has refused to endorse Brady's health suggestions (i.e. Brady's other business) as a healthy thing for everyone.

Does anyone really think Bill Belichick credits Brady's avante garde health and training regimen and profitable supplements for allowing old Belichick to run these incredible miles? No wonder Brady had a problem with him.

Nonetheless, Brady's semi-nude-model-wife and long time football expert, Gisele, had the answer all along -- just worship Tom:

Immediately after brackets are released he announces that he's coming back, taking airtime away from college athletes and smaller schools as sports outlets are forced to talk about him.

What a prick.
I told a guy at church that Tom's life can only be explained by him selling his soul to the Devil. The guy laughed because one thing I found out is that Steeler fans along with Colts fans don't like New England.
