Putin kind of showed the real Vlad, and it ain't pretty...

First off he made Tucker look like a clown, in a scripted "interview" lacking any substance. It wasn't scripted on Tucker's end, but Vlad knew exactly what version of Russian/Ukrainian history he wanted to tell and did exactly that. Tucker couldn't get a word in edgewise, and whenever Tucker tried to shift focus to anything resembling actual journalism, Vlad swatted him like a mosquito...

Tucker did manage to expose himself as being out of touch with everyday Americans, fawning over a Russian grocery store "innovation" that has been a fixture at places like Aldis for at least the past couple decades. And ultimately Putin managed to make Tucker look like a total fool when just days after Tucker proclaimed that part of the role of a leader is to kill political opponents, Vlad turned around and did just that. I don't even think Tucker was back in the US when the news broke of Navalny's death...

Then there is the unravelling of the DF 1023, the "trusted confidential FBI source" who basically launched the GOP attempt to impeach Joe Biden. For a while it was not only the main story every day on Fox News, but relied on heavily on this board as well.

Now we find out (although some of us already knew) that not only was the DF 1023 "highly suspicious", but the idea that Joe Biden took $5 Million as a bribe to fire a PG that everyone wanted fired was just a preposterous lie that only folks lacking common sense (present company excepted) would swallow. It truly made no sense, since no one liked Shokin or thought he was doing a good job.

Now it turns out that (again as some of us even posted) the whole concept was a Russian (Putin) plot. Smirnov has admitted he disliked Biden, got his orders from Russian Intelligence, and met with them again as recently as Dec 2023. More embarrassment for pro-Putin lackeys, in and out of Congress...

Now while most of us know of those 2 developments, the fact is that Navalny was not a one off. In case, despite the barbarism that Putin has demonstrated in Ukraine, people are still not convinced that Putin is a homicidal despot we have another timely example. Navalny wasn't the first political opponent that Vlad has had murdered over the years..

This story from the BBC has not made much fanfare in the US, esp when Trump has openly invited Putin to invade any NATO country who according to Trump isn't carrying their own financial weight. But here's a reminder that just like people who cross the mob, anyone who gets on the wrong side of Vlad is basically living on borrowed time...And there's nowhere to hide...

These are the people who Smirnov worked with...

- Putin is just misunderstood
- Navalny had it coming
- That's what strong leadership looks like
- Trump will get Putin to be a good boy on his first day in the white house if he is elected (and doesn't get it stolen from him)

lol

Biden is clueless naive and passive.

Reality check

Biden doesn't grovel at Putin's feet

Trump and his lackeys do (see Carlson) It isn't Biden saying it is ok for Putin to attack any NATO member not paying their share. It isn't Biden blocking aid to Ukraine so that they can keep standing up to Putin

I would say Putin has Trump and his fellow spineless Republican followers by the balls...if they even have any.

Remember when Trump's proof that there wasn't any Russian interference in the 2016 US election was that he asked Putin and he said no? Nothing about any interaction Trump has had with Putin gives me any confidence that Trump's foreign policy will keep Russia in check

I say let the voters decide.

This isn't a new Vlad--this is a Vlad that has always existed. KGB guy who wanted a more open economy under the guise of faux capitalism, which in reality was nothing more than another totalitarian regime where a guy gets to rule until he dies.

He's also far more cagier than past soviet leaders. He is ruthless, a con man and has been able to ingratiate Russia with many, many countries (African nations, Middle East (including a a significant amount of dealings with Israel)). He's made significant connections with Brazil, Venezuela and other other South American countries--something that we shit the bed on for 100 plus years. Stalin was the Hammer -Putin is every bit as menacing as Stalin but far more craftier in his long term thinking.

Well yeah he’s craftier. Wasn’t he an intelligence operative for something like 20 years for the KGB? I’m sure he’s well versed in the art of manipulation.

He was. There is some dispute about how high he actually got. I believe his grandfather/grandmother? was a cook for Lenin and Stalin.

Lol so? Maybe because he had no fear of pussy trump

Part of putin's excuse for invading Ukraine was not wanting them in NATO. When puppet Trump was president, putin wouldn't have to worry about that since he could just tell Trump to reject Ukraine.

Don't forget, Trump is against helping Ukraine and is on record saying putin is free to attack nato countries that don't fund their 2% of gdp.

Anyone thinking puppet Trump would stand up to putin is in lalaland

That game can be played all day. For example, the largest attack on U.S. soil came from Muslim fascists while a republican was in office because Bush was soft on Islamafacism. It would be a silly thing to say.

There's far too many people who don't understand the dynamics of what happened with Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union. From 2001, Russia had been angling for Crimea. Disputes about who owns the Black Sea Fleet, etc, etc. Keep in mind, between 1989--1997 Russia didn't have a pot to piss in-but Ukraine was always on the brain, and has been since Russian annexed it in the late 18th century. Vladimir Putin was and is infatuated with Ukraine. There is a very good book that was written about Putin that discusses this mentality:

Putin Book

Long and the short the Russians did what they do best--they began sowing discord into Crimea and other areas--pro Russian dissenters and the like. Then came 2014 and the massive power vacuum in the Ukraine when the then Ukrainian leader was deposed. Russia, in response to this fortuitous development that it had been fomenting, made its move into Crimea. Ukraine had no army to speak of, and Crimea's pro Russian group made that annexation easy pickings. Putin, ever the opportunist--and we can see what he has done in Africa and South America to capitalize on anti-American sentiment dating back 70 plus years...

Putin is a historian and lives in a world where the Russians were a super power. Ukraine to him was and is Russian--except it really never was. Recall the Nazi and Russian invasion of the Ukraine--the Ukrainians sided, by and large, with the Nazis rather than Russia with the caveat being that the Ukrainians would not fight the west but would rather Russians. I can only presume that the memory of the Holodomor and Stalin's forced starvation of 6-8 mil Ukrainians still loomed large.

Honestly, we should take the former President at his word--he would give half the Ukraine to Russia without batting an eye

And way too many people wouldn't care. Fortunately I think it is the idiocy of people like this with more and more people associating this nonsense with Trump andd his cult that will insure that anti-Trump voters, some who don't really love Biden, will turn out and vote rather than stay home.Large turnout=Dem victory in Nov...

I think a lot of the things about Putin that bother sane people the most, are kind of why these people think Zelensky's a thug and Putin's a benevolent angel...

There are several youtube channels from far right ultra -evangelical types who have left places like Canada,Austrailia, US and the West in general to settle in the promised land of Russia. One thing they seem to have in common is they are deathly afraid of Pride Flags. And they hate the gays in general...

Reminds me of the infamous British Spy Kim Philby and his gang of traitorous bastards from Cambridge. Absconded to the Soviet Union and then realized that living in Moscow was dreadful. He died a drunk old traitor in a miserable country without a pot to piss in.

Oswald didn't enjoy his time in Russia, either. Did meet his wife, though.

That’s a nice historical and mostly accurate description of what motivates Putin. However you avoid the most important factor in all of this. Putin now has a feckless, stupid, clueless and senile leader of the free world in opposition. Putin is taking full advantage and he is having his way with Biden.

Biden’s naiveté and passiveness toward Putin came into sharp focus with Navalny‘s death. Biden had a showy meeting with Navalny’s widow and daughter and the White House immediately announces new sanctions - against some 500 individuals and companies - which will be the biggest tranche since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine two years ago. This is after listening to two years of Biden bluster about what a bad and evil SOB Putin is and we must spend a gazillion dollars to stop him in Ukraine. Ask yourself: Where in the hell were these severe Navalny sanctions two years ago? If we must take every conceivable measure to stop Putin, crippling sanctions against Russia should have been the first item on Biden’s agenda.

There is more.

Trump stopped Nordstream II development. Biden green lighted it.

Trump ramped up LNG exports to undermine cash flow to Putin, Biden halted it.

Biden cluelessly sat on his thumbs while Putin built up his invasion force, believing Putin’s bullshit that it was a military exercise.

Biden said a Russian minor incursion would not be a problem.

Biden avoided and then slow-walked important military assets to Ukraine saying he didn’t want to provoke Putin. This was after Putin invaded.

Biden was scared of escalation, after Putin started the damn war.

Biden removed many sanctions and released sanctioned cash to Iran, a very important Russian ally.

Biden used Putin’s Russian henchman to represent the United States in restarting the JCPOA negotiations.

Biden is a typical blustering bully. He is all talk but is scared to take any meaningful action. Putin has Biden’s number.

Does anybody really wonder why Putin endorsed Biden for President?

As know, I have no ability whatsoever to do multi part quotes, so I will do the best I can.

Trump stopped Nordstream II development. Biden green lighted it.

Let's start with Nord Stream 2 and the bullshit that you have picked up from Donald's continued lies. First, Nord Stream 2 doubled the export of Russian Natural gas to Germany. Trump didn't end it and Biden didn't approve it. German regulators must approve the completed project. Trump signed a l aw that would impose sanctions on any firm that helped Russia's state owned gas company, finish the pipeline. Guess what the EU did? They objected to the sanctions. Europe is extraordinarily dependent upon natural gas. What Biden did do was try and rebuild ties to Germany, the 4th largest economy in the world that Trump shit on. The Germans requested that the sanctions be waived as did the bulk of European countries. By the way, that pipeline was 90% complete on the day Biden took office. By May 2021, the pipeline reached substantial completion.

And those Trump Sanctions---nonsense. They didn't work. Not one iota. I would also point out the State Department's position as captured on December 27, 2019 "Nord Stream 2 is a tool Russia is using to support its continued aggression against Ukraine. Russia seeks to prevent it from integrating more closely with Europe and the United States." (emphasis added). Which is to say under Trump (and dating back decades), Russian was actively engaged in hostilities with Ukraine.

Yet you go on this extraordinary premise --unsupported by any facts--just opinions. I would remind you that our former president said this:

Carlson: “Who blew up the Nord Stream pipeline?”
Trump: “I don’t want to get our country in trouble, so I won’t answer it. But I can tell you who it wasn’t, was Russia.”

The insinuation is not so subtle, "Joe Biden blew up Nord Stream". Unless the former president is lying (and we know he never lies), this Nord Stream pipeline tired canard can be put to bed.

"Trump ramped up LNG exports to undermine cash flow to Putin, Biden halted it."

This is just a bald face lie. Experts of U.S. LNG showed a rise between 2017 to May 2020, then drooped to pre-trump levels. LNG exports rose immediately under Biden beginning in February 2021 and continued rising to levels far beyond what Trump ever possibly contemplated. Indeed, by May 2021 LNG exports nearly tripled the levels of May-August 2020, and have grown even further. Not only that, but under Biden 4 new projects have already begun, which by 2028, we will double the current output of Qatar. 11 new projects are approved as well 5 in Louisiana, 3 in Texas, 1 in Mississippi, 1 in Alaska and the rest are off shore.

Biden cluelessly sat on his thumbs while Putin built up his invasion force, believing Putin’s bullshit that it was a military exercise.

Nonsense. You wouldn't know this to be true (which it isn't). You can pull up any European paper, the Economist, etc. The Washington Post had amazing story this weekend refuting every bit of this. CIA and special forces have been on the ground in the Ukraine for a long time and major contributors to the Ukraine's ability to gather intelligence from a technical standpoint.

Biden said a Russian minor incursion would not be a problem.

Nah, that's not what he said. His exact quote was

"I think what you're going to see is that Russia will be held accountable if it invades. And it depends on what it does. It's one thing if it's a minor incursion and then we end up having a fight about what to do and not do."

When questioned about this comment, he stated: ""If any — any — assembled Russian units move across the Ukrainian border, that is an invasion," that would result in "severe and coordinated economic response"

I have to leave for meetings for the rest of the day, so don't have time to get through all the Fox news unbridled dogma points. But perhaps tonight I will have a chance, but tonight is the night to finish up the True Detective season, and I answer to a higher power at home

If you think Putin is having his way with Biden-just wait until Trump gets back into the WH. Trump LOVES Putin and everything he stands for.
Most recent example of Trumps fealty was with Navalny. He didn't even have the stones to call it murder (I'm not talking blaming Putin, which was obvious to most of the world). Again, could not even acknowledge that it was murder. That friends, is pathetically WEAK.

Please.

Putin was aggressive during Obama Biden years. Putin was quiet during Trump Years. Putin became aggressive again during Biden years. Why? Trump did things, some of them were unpredictable, some were foreseen. Those things accomplished immediate tactical objectives and some also sent a message. Putin got the message. Biden does nothing— except send money.

The LNG ramp up during Biden’s early months was all a result of infrastructure expansion in reliance on Trump policy. You don’t ramp up LNG production and export by turning a valve. Biden stopped infrastructure development.

Biden inexplicably lifted sanctions on the company building Nordstream. Trump kept those. Biden also inexplicably lifted oil sanctions on Putin’s Iranian buddies.

Petroleum is the currency of world power and influence. Trump gets it. Biden has no clue as he took specific actions to ramp up petroleum production for those who hate us.

Biden even mentioning minor incursion is the problem.. it does not matter what else he said.

Obama told Putin‘s surrogate to be patient, that Obama would have more flexibility on Putin’s behalf after the election.

Your Navalny comment is just vacuous BS.

This is all utter nonsense. There is not one claimed fact here that is accurate. For example, "Biden stopped infrastructure development". All you need to do is pull the permits for those companies just in the sector of LNG.

Your statement that "the LNG ramp during Biden's early months was a result of infrastructure expansion in reliance on Trump policy" is also woefully untrue. First, it was obvious that you had no idea what the levels of LNG production were in your initial statement. You've now said essentially "but but but it was Trump that did it. Nonsense. Simply pulling up the permits (which I did), and viewing the data from the government would tell you that your claim could not be more inaccurate.

Biden's administration, for good and bad, has sanctioned more Iranian companies and individuals that Trump and it isn't close. There is a great article discussing this very same thing in the Jerusalem Post. Not only that, but sanctions laid down by Trump weren't working at all--in fact, under the last year of the Trump administration, Iran's oil revenues grew by 20 billion in one year! Under Biden, they have engaged in tracking specific shadow ships, sanctioning those, capturing at least 2.

You said "Biden inexplicably lifted sanctions on the company building Nord Stream". There was nothing inexplicable about it--it was at Germany and the bulk of Europe's request. What is inexplicable is why are the non-interventionists so keen on a faux claim of non-intervening?

It’s not going to do any good, but it’s still nice watching someone take apart his obvious horseshit.

Ramping up LNG was post 2016/and in reliance on Trump policy. Biden stopped it.

In postponing the CP2 decision, the Biden Department of Energy (DOE) made a significant break from the Trump and Obama administrations, which approved every complete LNG export application they considered.

Since February 2016, when the lower 48 states began exporting LNG for the first time, the amount of U.S. fossil gas shipped overseas rose from virtually nothing to 88.9 million metric tons in 2023 — making America the world’s largest LNG exporter last year.
***********
The Biden administration’s decision doesn’t impact any active facilities. Nor will it hinder the seven new terminals already under construction, which could help to double U.S. LNG exports by the end of this decade.

Instead, the temporary pause will primarily affect six major proposed LNGexport terminals that are still waiting to secure necessary approvals from either the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), the DOE, or both. That includes the $10 billion CP2 project, which, if built, will be the largest LNG export terminal in the United States.

Trump wanted to kill Russian O&G exports to NATO countries. As we know now, that was very sound policy. Yeah, Biden getting on board with NATO reliance on Russia for energy is inexplicable.

This is one reason why Putin wants no part of Trump and endorsed Biden. Yet, idiots on this forum insist that Trump admires Putin and helps him. I’m talking to you Klaus, Butt, and Cosmic.

So you've quoted a temporary pause on proposed facilities as something supports your proposition that Biden is not doing what? The article shows the production and exports of LNG soaring from a low of below 100 mil cubic feet in Trump's last year to 375 mil cubic feet this past year.....and you think that Biden somehow stopped ramping up production.

Again, all you are doing is contradicting yourself.

Biden has no authority to mess with existing permits. All he can do is mess with applications in the review pipeline and he did it.

No common sense Democrat supports this idiocy.
