I don’t know his completion %, but I’m guessing it’s pretty good. He was solid in our first game, but today is completely different. 2 td’s in the first half without any interceptions...in the rain. Hope this play continues.

11-13 passing That's 88%. 2TD's So far so good...

Ramsay near pick because of a PI. Luckily Scott is playing amazing. Never a good thing for a player to get injured, but it might have been good to give him the touches

Would help if Fryfogle would actually try catching it with his hands... It's been years since I've seen a college player purposely try to use his body to catch the ball...

Not sure exactly why when we are running the ball down the field Ramsey decides to throw deep into double coverage. Just not smart football by either the coaches or Ramsey. Got lucky with the PI call.

Though I think they were actual PI calls, it was also a lucky bail out given the way it floated up there into double coverage, I agree.

He is throwing nothing but rainbows and ducks.

Agreed, apparently Ramsey isn't a mudder, he hates the sloppy track. Every pass looks questionable. It's like Joe Flacco back there just praying for PI.

IMHO, good first half, disappointing 2nd half from Ramsey. Some of that was obviously the weather conditions being awful

I think it’s fair to have an * by Ramsey’s grade tonight due to extreme weather conditions.

And there is a real possibility IU still considering Penix only playing 4 games if possible to preserve the RS year?

I'm very concerned with Ramsey as the starter, I really am. He certainly has moxie and is a scrambler, but his arm talent really concerns me moving into Big Ten play.

There's just not much pop on his passes and he throws lots of really bad balls. They look like ducks, not a good look.

I've been beaten up pretty thoroughly over this position, though. I guess I'll chalk his struggles tonight up to waterlogged balls.

I say give him a more realistic grade after next week assuming it’s not a Monsoon.

His passes had a lot of zip last week. Tonight definitely had some wounded ducks that I’d like to believe man be chalked up to wet ball & conditions. But throwing it into coverage decision-making is a bit concerning, though like to also believe Ramsey is a film junkie who works to not repeat same mistakes.

TBD

Ramsey was excellent tonight...its the oline that is determining whether or not a play works...his arm is more than adequate. So is his accuracy...the rain was intense...passing tough...how did UV do? SIgh...

I have finally had it with you. WERE YOU THERE? Sit in your easy chair and criticize our QB that puts everything on the line. I'm 80 years old, drive over 7 hours to the game, set with full rain gear and still come home soaked only to read your drivel.
I know what to do - put you on ignore but then I would miss 3/4 of all the texts. Next time go to the game and see what it is like during those terrible plays you complain about!!!!

LOST

Could u imagine if he had an arm like Lagow? He'd be All Big Ten.

I still think Penix should play. We need to at least keep him happy. I'm worried about him transferring because hes talented enough to go anywhere.

You need to stop putting that out there and trying to create a problem that doesn’t exist as far as anyone can see. Penix is a smart kid and coaches are all over him to let him know how important he is this and in the future. It’s all of game 2. He will play more this season, 3 more games minimum!

Maybe. But I was there to support the team instead of nitpicking. Were you there?
Hard to do from the mountains of Colorado...I do when Im home...and nitpicking is what fans sites are for...wear your glasses any way you want...leave me to me...

I’m actually shocked at the critiques of Ramsey. It’s like nobody is factoring in the weather.

The kid played pretty well in really tough conditions. One of Penix’s issues in the preseason was ball security and I would almost guarantee that was a factor in why we didn’t see him tonight

Looking for our improved running attack to open up passing opportunities. The combination of of a good run and pass game will keep defenses guessing. Would like to keep Stevie on the field during 3rd downs to keep the run option in the defenses mind. Hopefully they are working with him on improving his pass protection and pass catching ability. Would like to see Stevie on a screen play.

Really hoping this is something we will see. I think we'll really be able to extend drives and convert on 3rd if we can keep Scott in to pass protect and keep defenses guessing.

Hopefully the conditions had a lot to do with it, but I thought his throws looked quite weak.. UVA's QB looked like... a RB, only a RB. Ramsey looked terrific in Miami, crisp throws, noticeably stronger than last year, so again, hopefully the monsoon was the culprit.. Still efficient for the most part, I just have nightmares about B1G DB's pick-6'ing him on those out routes, especially to the far hash, but hopefully they remain just in my head.
