Because he is a new commit, figured this question would come up. Bowden was just inside the Rivals250 in the post-junior season update that released in December at No. 246. We did not see anything new from him since then, so our evaluation/opinion of him has not changed and he remains a four-star, 5.8 Rivals Rating.

Rankings are different, though, because they involve where a player sits in relation to the other prospects in the class. With Bowden's rating staying the same in this update, his ranking, then, is determined by how other prospects around him move. In this case there were about a net +20 players moving higher or into Rivals250 than those moving lower, which is pretty standard for an update. Bowden, then, drops out because more players moved up than moved down. In-state LB Pete Werner, who was No. 240 last time, also dropped out because we had no new evals of him since junior season either.

So, just wanted to clarify that point. Our opinion of Bowden remains the same and he remains a 5.8 four-star. We have four more rankings updates for this 2017 class and should see Lynn several times over the next year, so he definitely has a chance to move back into the 250.
