Based on the performance by our defense on Saturday and quite frankly the entire season, if you were a defensive player and being recruited by IU would you look at as a.) an immediate opportunity to play and therefore a great opportunity or b.) it is obvious that the coaching is not up to where it needs to be and therefore not a option?
I will tell you that based on what I see and hear from the commentators it doesn't sound as if we are physically not in the same ball park as our opponents so to me it has to be on the coaches. The level to which IU performs is not in line with the amount of pay that is being paid.
And on an sort of off topic, it gets old blaming the fans and or lack of support for the issues on the field, competitive sports environments want to follow a winner changing the culture I would agree is extremely difficult but it can be done and IU needs to find the recipe to doing so soon IMO. Hell is Utah can field a top 10 team there is no reason why IU can't field a top 50 team.
