Question about Egg Prices

It is 4/10

Supply of eggs is much better.

Prices still sky high

That doesn't seem accurate based on this data: https://www.ams.usda.gov/mnreports/ams_3725.pdf

In fact, almost every type is down significantly vs. the peak.

However, having recently shopped, I tend to agree with you. Retailers are not lowering prices (likely due to Easter demand - and Passover @Eppy99 !). My local grocer still is showing $7+ online (could be higher than in-store only, not sure), but Target has some for $4.99 now. Maybe prices lag in retail vs. when freight is shipped out, but you wouldn't think it would be that far apart.

Where I worked, orders would usually be taken from production directly to the trucks. Packed and on the road same day.

Thank goodness I'm not in charge of bringing the eggs. In fact I'm making nothing with eggs. I am however hosting 20 people at my house. If you hear of locust flying over houses in Carmel and blood on the front doors of Jews in the hood. We're just out having a good time.

We've got 16 coming here and that's plenty for me.

Last time we hosted was a complete disaster. Let me just give the end of the story......my daughter had a non Jewish friend over. She ate the Gefilte Fish and literally barfed on my wood floors by the front bathroom blocking the way to the front door. There was arguing between my kids, the grandparents weren't getting along and the guests all had to exit out the porch door to avoid the vomit. Worst. Passover. Ever

We used to have a Passover play when the kids were young. We would enact parts of the story. Everyone had a part, there were costumes, props for the plagues and lots of overacting. It was fun though. One year I made everyone participate in a bling matzah taste test. I bought like 4 different brands. Manishevitz was the least favorite. I usually make some type of lamb. I used to grill racks of lamb between the end of the first part of the service and dinner. Everyone loves them but it's too stressful to watch the grill during sedar. This year I'm making a sephardic feast with a Persian Lamb Stew I'll make tomorrow, and a Moroccan vegetable tagine. Lot easier.

Was it homemade or the nasty ones from the jars filled with gelatin? I eat both fwiw, but I’m weird.

Jar. But funny you should mention homemade. Back in the day when all the old family was still alive. Somebody would always mention how when they grew up there was live fish in the bathtub until it was time to make the gentle fish. They told the story every damn year like it was the first time they’ve ever recited. Truthfully I miss those days.
