We've talked a lot about the decision to restrict main reps to Richard Lagow and Danny Cameron. I fully expect Zander to be back "in play" when he's fully recovered from his injury. Obviously the spring game will say more about the depth chart and who is playing their way into contention. I fully anticipate Donovan Hale to red shirt this season. He used up a year of eligibility on special teams and briefly at WR. Back at QB, I really like his physical tools. But he's very much a gem that requires time and polish. Had Nate had the chance to red shirt instead of playing part time, he'd have been incredible next season. So if Donovan is going to stay at QB, I look for him to sit out this season.
One thing that's key is work ethic. One of the interesting quotes from his last media time was Coach Wilson's remark: "The video library is over there. After practice, some people go over there and some people go home." Now was that aimed at one or all of our QB's? I don't know.
To me, THAT was telling. It may well be Coach Wilson's way of saying: "Hey, you're not just a guy in a uniform. If you're going to be a leader on this team and in this program, you have to demonstrate it and earn it."
I don't know how this applies to our quarterbacks. But it's something to keep in mind.
