Is it me or does Purdues recruiting class look weaker than most of the classes Lynch put together. About half of them are two stars and the majority of their commits don't have other BCS offers. I thought Hazell was going to be able to recruit better.

as far as recruting goes, hazzell has been a bust. they pukes bitch about hope, but his recruting looks elite compared to hazzell's. plus look at kent state since hazzell left, worse program in the mac, apparentely wasnt a good recruiter there either

Let's concentrate on our recruiting and let them wallow in the mud. It sucks to be a Boiler. Boiler down and Banner UP.

Go Hoosiers.

Re: IU needs to finish strong because.......

.....Purdue is ranked 56 in the Rivals commit list and we are 74th.
FWIW, Lynch didn't finish higher than #58 in his Rivals classes and twice finished in the 90s.

Re: IU needs to finish strong because.......

They also have 10 more commits then we do.

I suspect that when we fill out our class, it'll be ranked higher then theirs.

Re: We will finish strong

Coach Wison and staff have improved our recruiting classes during his tenure. All ranked higher than Lynch. We will move up considerably when he fills out this class. That's the difference between Wilson and Lynch. Coach Wilson will not just fill out the class with two star recruits, just to fill out the class. Wilson is primarily going after a stronger class of three and four star players. No need to panic. Some of the better recruits take their time and want to take their visits. I'm sure that we will fill this class with good players that will fill the needs we have. A good JUCO QB and a JUCO WR, and CB would be great. Go Hoosiers!

They are rated highly because of total number. They'll move down once other schools finish up their classes. They'll likely end up in the mid 70s

our ave star ranking is 2.9 good for sixth in the conference

If we can start getting middle of the conference on field production from our middle of the pack recruiting we would be going to a decent bowl

they still have some nice chunks of coal to build with in the class.

There are a few I wish would switch to IU that I'd happily accept.

Re: How about our WR corps?

For the most part, both regimes have had some really good ones and others that fell off the map.
I guess when you look at it, it's probably a wash.

Lynch produced Doss, Belcher, Bolser and Hughes.
Wilson had Latimore and Wynn.

Wilson did sign Booth and that's still TBD but J-Shun Harris was a nice switch from Ball State and had a pretty productive year for a freshman.

Both coaches had 3-star kids who didn't stick with the team.

Re: How about our WR corps?

I don't know for sure but my impression is that the WR Lynch brought in were not "Rated" real high but developed into good players. I don't know of any that blew the doors off it their Freshman Season. That said, we have 2 highly recruited and rated WR's on the roster from last year that were Freshman. Let's reserve passing judgement on them until they have had time to develop without turmoil at the signal calling position....we also have another highly rated WR coming in this year in Leon....you really have to look hard and with colored glasses to find where the roster has not improved under Wilson in my opinion.

CORRECTION... Just looked and Cody was highly rated....offer sheet wasn't full of top conference offers but clearly a highly rated WR..... When you make generalized statements

Well, up until this year...

I loved our receivers under Wilson. Harris and Booth could be really special.

We do this every year with this staff...

People freak out about our ranking, and then amazingly, we end up about middle of the pack on signing day.

Please forgive me.....

I have committed the unpardonable sin of a typo. Guess I'm just not a real fan.

I did know that. Did you count the number of dropped

passes he had this year, and at crucial times?

He had great years when he had studs playing wide. When he moved wide, not so much.

But you knew that, didn't you?

Yeah, I can't compare to your attention to minutia, such

as spelling.

That's the really important stuff.
