Both teams had a man reach on a walk in the 1st and that was it. One stat that I was unaware of is that Whalen has reached base in all of IU's games this season so far, and he got the walk for IU in the 1st. Whalen advanced to 2nd base on a wild pitch but was stranded there. It's 48 and sunny right now and not much wind.

In the 2nd, Walker walked the leadoff batter for PFW, then got a K, and then gave up a single for the first hit of the game to put men on 1st and 2nd, but Walker got out of the inning on a couple of ground outs.

In IUs half of the 2nd, Colopy doubled to left center to leadoff. Tibbets flied out with Colopy still at 2nd. Pyne then singled, scoring Colopy to give IU an early lead of 1-0. With one out, Pyne reached 2nd on a wild pitch, Mathison struck out, and Serruto flied out deep to LF for the last out.

In the T3rd, Walker gave up a leadoff double, but Walker got out of the inning on a couple of pop outs and an over-the-shoulder catch on a fly ball by Colopy to end PFW's half of the inning. PFW has gone to their bullpen in the 3rd.

In IU's half of the 3rd, Doanes was hit by a pitch to lead it off. Glasser flied out and Doanes then got picked off of 1st for 2 outs, and Whalen grounded out to end the 3rd.

In the 4th, Ryan Kraft replaced Jack Walker on the mound for IU. Kraft put them down in order on a K and two ground outs.

In IUs half of the 4th, two ground outs and an infield hit by Tibbetts put a man on first with two outs. Freshman Jack Pyne then ripped a two-run homer off the scoreboard to put IU up 3-0. Pyne has all three RBIs so far today. Mathison struck out to end the inning.

In the T5th, the leadoff batter for PFW reached on a single up the middle. Kraft then got a K for the first out. Ground out forced the runner at 2nd for two outs and a man on 1st. The runner on 1st stole 2nd with two outs. Kraft got another K to end PFW's half of the inning. PFW has gone to the bullpen again for the B5th.

In IU's 5th, Serruto grounded out for the first out and Doanes walked. Glasser then singled and Doanes with his speed reached 3rd to put men on the corners with one out. Glasser was caught stealing 2nd for two outs. Whalen then doubled to score Doanes from third to give IU a 4-0 lead. Ellis fouled out to end the inning.

In the T6th, Kraft walked the leadoff batter. IU got a ground out for the first out with the runner moving to 2nd. A ground out at first moved the runner to 3rd with two outs. A hard-hit infield single that was hard to handle scored the runner at 3rd with a man on 1st and still two outs. The runner on 1st stole 2nd, but a ground out ended the inning with PFW getting on the board with IU up 4-1. PFW has gone to the bullpen again for IU's 6th.

In IU's 6th, Colopy led off with a walk and Tibbetts singled to LF to put men on 1st and 2nd with no outs. Pyne was out on a SF that moved Colopy to 3rd with one out and two men on. An error on a pickoff attempt by the pitcher scored Colopy at 3rd to make it 5-1 and Tibbetts took 2nd on the attempt. Mathison walked on a wild pitch that moved Tibbetts to 3rd. With runners on the the corners and one out, PFW went to the bullpen.
Serruto scored Tibbetts from 3rd on a SAC bunt to make it 6-1, while Mathison also took 2nd on the SAC bunt. Mathison then stole 3rd with two outs and scored from 3rd on a wild pitch to make it 7-1 with two outs and no one on. Doanes then walked and Glasser lined out to end the inning with IU up 7-1.

In the T7th, IU brought in David Platt to pitch in his first appearance on the mound this season, and his first in two years. Platt got a K for the first out but gave up a double to the next batter with one out. Platt struck out the next batter for the 2nd out, but then gave up two walks to load the bases with two outs. A fly out ended PFW's half of the inning with no damage done. We are at the 7th inning stretch.

In IU's 7th, Whalen walked to lead off and then stole 2nd. Ellis then clubbed a two-run homer to the deepest part of the park that they put at 410 ft to put IU up 9-1 with no outs. Ellis now has six homers on the season. PFW went to the bullpen again. Colopy then singled to put a man on and no outs. Tibbetts was then hit by a pitch to put men on 1st and 2nd with no outs. A fielder's choice at first sent runners to 2nd and 3rd with one out. Mathison put the ball in play to the SS who committed a throwing error that scored two runs and put Mathison at first. A FC and a K ended the inning for IU, but IU pushed the lead up to 11-1.

In the 8th, Ty Bothwell took the mound for IU replacing Platt, and he has really struggled coming out of the bullpen for IU in the early going. Bothwell hit the first two batters he faced to put runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs as Bothwell continues to struggle. Bothwell finally found his control and struck out the next two batters for two outs, but then lost it again walking the next two batters to bring in a run without there being a hit in the inning. He got the third out on another K. Bothwell was either hitting batters, walking them, or striking them out in an inning of extremes for him. IU batting in the 8th up 11-2 and PFW has brought in their 7th pitcher of the day.

Glasser opened IU's 8th with a leadoff single to RF. Whalen then hit into a DP. Ellis then hit solo homer, his second homer in back-to-back at bats for his 7th homer of the season to make it 12-2. Colopy, Tibbetts, and Pyne all singled to load the bases with two outs. Mathison then struck out to end the inning.

In the 9th, Joe Moran came in to close it out, and two flyouts and a K ends the game.

IU had 14 hits on the game. Several players had multiple hits.

Colopy and Tibbetts were both 3 for 4.
Ellis was 2 for 5 with two homers and 3 RBIs
Pyne was 3 for 5 with a homer and 3 RBIs
Glasser was 2 for 5
